Have no health insurance and something terrible happens to you like a major injury or cancer or something? How do you get treated? Or do you even get treated?

Does anyone here work in a hospital billing department or with social services and could tell me. It's something I worry about constantly as there have been times when I've had no insurance. What about dental emergencies?

I live in Texas, in case that matters.

Thanks a whole bunch!

as I am an adult I am having to pay for treatment myself. One thing that I am worried about is that my orthodontist has said there is no guarantee that the teeth will remain straight once treatment has ended. I will be getting a retainer afterwards which I will have to wear full-time for the first 6 months and then part-time thereafter for life. My questions is though, is there anyone who's teeth moved back to their original position even though they did wear a retainer for the time instructed by their orthodontist? Because obviously I do not want to pay all this money and then have my teeth move back!!

I just got an upper denture, and am wondering if I should let my gums rest durning the night, and not wear them then.

A child died of a toothache that turned into an infection that spread to his brain. Everyone is blaming the medical system because they didn't give him free dental work, how about putting some resposibility on the parent for not making sure the child took care of his teeth and didn't seek help any sooner once the tooth was rotted out.

I have conventional braces (metal, rubber bands, and brackets) but I would rather have Invisalign. Would it cost extra to switch and if so would it be under 300 dollars?

I'm 17, and im pretty sure I have gingivitis, b/c I went to the dentist recently and he told me that my gums are inflamed. I noticed that my teeth have an extremely slight movement, which is only noticable when I look close in the mirror, when I push them. As long as I brush and floss, and see the dentist regularly, will I be able to prevent tooth loss. I don't know why im so paranoid, but I keep thinking that im going to lose my teeth no matter what I do. The looked ay my teeth and xrays and didn't say anything about periodontitis. So if I take care of my teeth from now, will I be able to keep all of my teeth.

My cousin was diagnosed periodontitis on his upper teeth. During the consultation, the periodontist told him there's a loss of bone shown in the x-ray, he can save his teeth -deep cleaning . He needs 3 visits at 3 wks intervals.
During his appt 3 days ago (40 day after his consultation), my cousin feared, the periodontist gave him a general cleaning on his gum in his entire mouth instead of deep cleaning & told him he need not have to come back again. Will general cleaning prevent loss of tooth and loss of bone? On 1st & 2nd day after general cleaning, he still feel inability to chew his food on the affected tooth. He can feel the nerve of the affected tooth when the lower tooth touches the affected upper tooth while chewing. It's uncomfortable. IS THIS TEMPORARY? On 3rd day, he felt his tooth a little better & stronger, however, will his affected tooth regain its strength & when can he eat solid food again? Does he need root canal treatment?
Can anyone please help to advise.Thk You.
