I'm 17, and im pretty sure I have gingivitis, b/c I went to the dentist recently and he told me that my gums are inflamed. I noticed that my teeth have an extremely slight movement, which is only noticable when I look close in the mirror, when I push them. As long as I brush and floss, and see the dentist regularly, will I be able to prevent tooth loss. I don't know why im so paranoid, but I keep thinking that im going to lose my teeth no matter what I do. The looked ay my teeth and xrays and didn't say anything about periodontitis. So if I take care of my teeth from now, will I be able to keep all of my teeth.

some dentists try not to scare you until things get worse, or until they think there is more chance of it getting worse than getting better. this sounds like an initial stage of periodontal disease. the gum inflammation results from bacteria that has been caught in pockets around your tooth and are slowly making their way and attacking the gum tissue. tissue that becomes damaged result in loose teeth.
since things still seem okay (good x-ray), use a flouride or calcium rinse to build up bone matter, definitely use Listerine, brush and watch out for plaque! plaque, which hardens into tartar, is what creates cavities. also, add more vitamin D and calcium into your diet to maintian the integrity of your teeth and bone.

THE FACT THE DENTIST NOTICED YOUR GUMS ARE INFLAMED, BUT THAT THE X-RAYS WERE GOOD IS EXCELLENT NEWS FOR YOU. THERE HAS TO BE BETTER BRUSHING ON YOUR PART, HOWEVER. BONE LOSS DUE TO PERIODONTAL DISEASE CAN SHOW UP IN YOUR THIRTIES IF YOUR GUMS STAY INFLAMED.
BY THE WAY,PERIO DISEASE IS PAINLESS AND YOUR TEETH AREN'T MOBILE UNTIL YEARS AFTER HAVING IT.
ALSO, YOUR PARTICULAR TOOTH MOVEMENT IS WELL WITHIN NORMAL LIMITS, AND THERE IS NOTHING WRONG, BUT DON'T HABITUALLY PRESS ON THEM TO SEE HOW FAR THEY WILL MOVE -- THIS WILL BE HARMFUL.

Only time will tell.
You didn't mention using a gum stimulator.
Have you been using one? Ifnot, get one, and learn how to use it properly. They really help. So does the right mouthwash. I use Crest Pro Health
because my dentist recommends it.
