Im 13 years old and 3 of my wisdom tooth are almost done coming out, but my teeth are getting crowded. Is installing braces into my teeth a good idea?

I don't mind being put under by gas, but I'm scared of getting an IV in my arm. Is that at all necessary? Please share your experiences. Thank you.

I have heard a variety of ways to whiten teeth and get rid of smelly breath not related to halitosis. This would be in addition to regular brushing, flossing, and tongue-scraping. Some of the things I have heard include: rinsing with hydrogen peroxide, hot salt water, or diluted apple cider vinegar (yuck!); brushing with baking soda, baking soda mixed with peroxide, baking soda mixed with salt (that seems like nails on a chalkboard!). What are some other ways to achieve results until someone can afford to go to the dentist? Any suggestions for inexpensive products that really work?

As a child, I never took care of my teeth, plus my parents don't have the best of teeth so I ended up with bad teeth. About 2 months ago, I got a filling in a major cavity. The cavity went all the way through the tooth, not a gigantic hole, but if I tabbed my tongue against one side I could feel my tongue on my cheek. The filling was fine, but it was sensetive for a while. During the past few weeks, I have lost all sensetivity in it, but about an hour and a half ago, I got a horrible pain in it. It became extremely painful to eat or drink anything, even at normal room temperature. I even avoided drinking some water because after 4 seconds I feel pain in the filling. I brush my teeth in the morning and at night, and I floss at night.

Any idea about what it could be? It doesn't hurt if there isn't any food, water, or cold air in my mouth, I am actually chewing sugar free gum right now without any pain.

it was root canaled 5 weeks ago and still aches without even touching it . the dentist said it must have died a long time ago when she opened it up, it was partly calcified and the nerve was dry and came out in pieces. before the root canal was completed i had it reopened and cleaned 3 times, so i am very reluctant to have an endodontist redo the whole thing. the xray shows nothing like abcess or cracks and the dentist said the bone around it looks ok..........i am baffled and still taking pain killers. this tooth was cracked in half when i was younger (face plant into curb) ,but they just put filler cement around it and hoped for the best.

I'm 29. I have a BA in political science which I haven't found extremely useful, and don't want an advanced degree in it or law, so I've been considering a career change. How long would it realistically take to do my schooling and become a dentist. Do you have to totally restart on an undergrad level before going into dental school? Or could I do the lower-level science classes at a community college and then go into dental school?

I have caramel coloured skin, brown eyes, and brown hair. I'm getting my braces on Tuesday and I'm not worried, but I'd like to know what colours would look nice on me. My friends have suggested pink and blue, pink and yellow, and green and blue. Kay thanks for all your help in advance. Cheers!

I went to the dentist today and was told that all four of my wisdom teeth need to come out. They have all fully erupted (none below my gumline). Has anyone every had this procedure? I'm being sent to an oral surgeon in a couple of weeks and I'm sure I'll have them taken out within a month or so. Can anyone tell me their story about having their erupted wisdom teeth removed? I know the stories about having to have them cut out..I need to know what to expect with my situation. Thanks so much!

I have all four of my wisdom teeth and they have never given me a problem even when they were growing in. A friend of mine told me that their dentist recommended that he have his wisdom teeth pulled even though they have never given him a problem either. Why would the dentist recommend this?

Ok I am a dentist in Ireland so initially it may seem strange for me to post a question in the dental section but as an Irish dentist I'm not privy to practices in Eastern Europe, especially Hungary.
I have several patients with extremely advanced tooth decay which I can treat for X price.I'm now informed this is MUCH cheaper in Hungary for people who need a large amount of work, extensive crowns, implantology.
I have no problem with people saving money and going elsewhere if they need a lot done , however I need to know if ANYONE HERE HAS HAD DENTAL TREATMENT IN BUDAPEST BY HUNGARYDENTAL COMPANY

what was your impression of their work?
In Ireland we provide standard implant for 3,000EURO..
IN HUNGARY APPARENTLY ITS 900EURO

As I cat enquire as a member of the Irish Dental Association I would like to hear from people with first hand experience,

Paul

well I am about 13 years old and i have had my braces for half a year. My teeth are perfectly lined up already, but i just have to move my over bite back about...2 mm. My orthodontists said in the beginning 1 year 10 months, but if my teeth are already lined up, and my over bite would be fixed within one year's time [ now only 6 months to go], how long would this take?
