Ok I am a dentist in Ireland so initially it may seem strange for me to post a question in the dental section but as an Irish dentist I'm not privy to practices in Eastern Europe, especially Hungary.
I have several patients with extremely advanced tooth decay which I can treat for X price.I'm now informed this is MUCH cheaper in Hungary for people who need a large amount of work, extensive crowns, implantology.
I have no problem with people saving money and going elsewhere if they need a lot done , however I need to know if ANYONE HERE HAS HAD DENTAL TREATMENT IN BUDAPEST BY HUNGARYDENTAL COMPANY

what was your impression of their work?
In Ireland we provide standard implant for 3,000EURO..
IN HUNGARY APPARENTLY ITS 900EURO

As I cat enquire as a member of the Irish Dental Association I would like to hear from people with first hand experience,

Paul

I lived in Hungary for several years and always had excellent dental care there. Nothing major, just cleanings, fillings, etc, but I was always pleased with it. Mind you, I went to one of the best private dental clinics in Budapest and so paid top dollar, but even still, it was much less than if I'd had the same thing done at a regular dental clinic in the U.S.

I can't speak for the company Paul is asking about though. Why don't you ask your patient to contact the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce about this company? http://www.mkik.hu/index.php Maybe they can tell you something about them.

And to the first guy: wages in Hungary are indeed lower than in the US, but Hungary is a full-fledged E.U. member state and quite developed economically. It is NOTHING like Mexico!

sure there has been a number of people who has long gone to the former eastern bloc to have scientific care. in case you're fortunate to get an exceedingly good medical institution then you definately would be high-quality. however the threat of something going incorrect and then having to pay thrice which you paid for to get it good is often there. ninety% of the time that's straightforward and each thing works high-quality. have you ever theory what is going to take place in case you have a undertaking on the subject of a few dental artwork performed in hungary and could bypass there to get it appeared at? are yuu going to hop on the airplane whenever you get a tooth soreness? think of intently and act properly

in the states we have the same situation with mexico. i can tell you from first hand experience that it's one of the worst things i've ever seen.

i've seen MOD composites where the dentist jsut drilled a trench from the distal of the second molar to the mesial of the first premolar and filled the whole thing with one application of composite. no matrix bands! it was one long composite!!!!

also, i saw a girl just the other day who had what i though was 3 crowns done on 8, 9, and 10. nope, it was one crown with open margins on each tooth. i guess it's that much easier to cast it as one and not worry about contacts.

if hungary is anything like mexico, you get what you pay for.

also, there are all kind of mission trips from the US over to hungary since they are so poor. i wonder if this is a clever ruse to have american dentists doing work for free on "hungarians" who turn out to just be europeans wanting cheaper care. if that were the case then they would be getting top notch dentistry.

For tomh311: Hungary is not a poor country...bad informed.
For Paul: Yes, this is called 'medical tourism'...people are coming in Eastern Europe because it's cheaper and doctors and assistants are well trained...
For example I work in Romania in a dental clinic specialized in periodontology...we are participating in lots of congresses and all kind of specializations.
I can tell you from experience that we have lots of foreign patients...italiens, german, canadians, americans, austrian, french...and I could continue...most of them are coming especially for dental work in the country...and they are going home very pleased.Lots of them are coming back every year in their vacations for a checkout.
Here a standard implant is between 500-900 euro...
Any questions???...if I can help email me at luzzuboat@yahoo.com.
I hope my answer is not disappointing you...
Best regards...
