Do the germs stay on the brush and re-infect you (once you are over the cold), or is this just my OCD coming out?

yeah i think it would be best cause the common cold is mild viral infection, so i guess its a virus . if you get sick you...then you bursh your teeth you may leave the virus on there and re-infect yourself when you get better, its like when you touch a doorknob that millions of people already touched somewhere? you have a risk of getting sick , since it spreads. so think about a toothbrush in your mouth backk and forth:D germs/viruses spread i guess ohh yeah but also for daily cleaning i suggest hydrogen proxoide, pour it into a cup and put your toothbrush in it and leave over night so you get a clean toothbursh every day yay!!:D so buy new toothbrush when you get better from your cold...

No. The problem with the cold virus is it mutates constantly. You never get the same cold bug twice in your life, thats why they cant find a cure for it. Your body kills off the cold you have, becomes ammune to reinfection, only to get reinfected later on with the same condition but a different strain.....if you see what i mean.
So, no. You dont need to change anything because your body will be immune to the cold strain you just had.

I usually either get a new toothbrush or at least sterilize the old one when I have been ill.
