well I am about 13 years old and i have had my braces for half a year. My teeth are perfectly lined up already, but i just have to move my over bite back about...2 mm. My orthodontists said in the beginning 1 year 10 months, but if my teeth are already lined up, and my over bite would be fixed within one year's time [ now only 6 months to go], how long would this take?

Everyone is different as far as time goes. It depends on how much has to change and how fast your body adapts to the changes.

I will tell you this, from experience. When they put the lingual wire on the bottom teeth after you take your braces off. Don't EVER remove it! I thought I was going to be smart and take mine off, and after 3 months my teeth had moved quite a bit. I'm going to have to get braces put back on to straighten them out again.

It really depends on the ortho.. if your teeth are already straight and you just need to fix your overbite.. you shouldnt have too much longer to go.. possibly 6 months maybe more.. theres ho definite answer to braces it just depends on how fast your teeth move.
