I don't seem to notice a difference between a regular toothbrush and the one I use now. Does anyone know?

Yes they clean better than a regular one and they help stimulate the gums when you brush your gums with them.

I don't have a Pulsar but I do use the Sonicare, try a little test. Use your electric toothbrush for 3 months, stop and go back to a manual. Your teeth will feel dirty in a couple of days and you will go back to the electric. My Sonicare died and it was about a week before I replaced it, my teeth felt awful, I'm a firm believer.
By the way I did not stop brushing -I went to a manual for that week.

I read something that the only electric toothbrushes that work BETTER than manual brushes are ones that both rotate and go back and forth. The other electric toothbrushes merely work AS WELL AS manual toothbrushes, but require less effort, of course.

You may not see the effect , but your dental hygienist certainly will . It really helps getting rid of the plaque . As well the rotation of the power head is rotating much faster then you can brush your teeth manually , as well it massages your gums and helps fight gingivitis .
