Dental - March 2007

The top 2 are fully grown and are going to be removed, but the bottom 2 are only half way grown and are not being removed the same day (getting it removed later). Am I going to have problems with 2 bottoms wisdom teeth and no top wisdom teeth?

i went to the dentist in november and one of my teeth is still protruding from my gums about a mm or less, but i still think she might of pushed too hard or something when she was doin her stuff.. any professional answers? thx a lot <333

I have had a really bad
tooth ache for a day or two now and I was hoping that it would get
better. The only thing that the dentist said that we could do is a
root canal, and that would take me at least 2 - 3 days to recover
from so .Well, it is not getting better, it is getting worse, and I can barely talk right now.

I got a consultation and they said that I would need a rapid palatal expander, but there is a chance that it will not work and I might need that surgery to seperate my upper jaw sutures, could someone explain that too me? He said about 10-15% chance. I am 22, how do I know if they have fused or not? And is $500 a reasonable price for the expander? And how much pain/cost associated with that surgery?

Alright I went into the dentist office last Thursday and the dentist looked at the xray and said that it had a pretty big hole in it and an abcess so he pulled the tooth. Now the tooth that was next to it started hurting yesterday. Could the abcess spreaded to the other tooth or what?

I am 15 and I chipped my very back tooth on the left side of my month nearly 5 months ago. Since then It has become so bad I need a Root Canal done. The problems is I had 5 additional cavities, and to get them all fixed it would cost my parents roughly $3000. If I where to get the bad tooth extracted instead of the Root Canal procedure, it would only cost $280. I know for a fact that the Root Canal is the best way to go, and I get to keep my tooth. I have heard a lot about tooth extractions usually turning out to be no good and painful. BUT, if I where to choose the Extraction I would e able to get all my other cavities filled immediately rather than waiting. I This is a very hard decision for me, and obviously my parents are pressuring me into choosing the Extraction due to money. Can anyone who has had either a Root Canal or extraction help me out here? What is the right thing to do?

Why do you get cancore sores???

i use to get them almost all the time when i had braces but i just thought it was my braces digging into my inside of my mouth.. I don't have braces anymore though.

I have the Phillips Sonic Care Elite and I change the head every 6 months. About two months after I start a new one this brownish stuff builds up. I think it's algae but don't know. How do you get rid of it and prevent it. It's really gross

OK so I am going away this weekend, it is an important weekend..... But I recieved a cold sore this morning..... Two days before I have to leave!!!!!! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

What can I do to get rid of it???? Please answer only if you have had one and it went away with whatever you used, No offense but I dont really want answers like, "Go to the store get this medication, I heard it works good" NO I want real answers, some of that stuff just makes it worse..... I know alot of dentists require pre-medication before performing a cleaning service on a client with Mitral Valve Prolapse but this seems extreme... I was perscribed to take 4 500mg Amoxicillin Pills 1 hour before my appointment (all four have to be taken at the same time... that is a total of 2000mg of antibiotics)! I know this is a precaution to avoid endocarditis (which is a no good situation)! My question ... Is this too much? I am a petite girl (5' & 100 ibs) and I fear that I will react to such a high dosage (nausea, etc) I have serious digestive issues and worry this may set them off (my dentist is aware of these conditions)! I know I have to take them (a requirement by my dentist) but would 2 be suffice or should I suck it up take all four (or get a second opinion from a pharmacist and/or physician)?

A few months ago I had a root canal and a crown done on a top back tooth. If I push on it with my tongue on the sides, it feels a little pressure achey. Not a pain or a sting, just a funny ache type feeling. It does not hurt when I push on it straight on or chew on it, and it is not temperature sensitive. It has no pain... but sometimes if I chew something like a granola bar or steak it might feel a little achey for a bit afterwards. Not while I am chewing, but after. I wouldn't say it is a hurting ache, more like an irratated ache. Any ideas what is going on? I do have a dental appt, but wondering if anyone has had anything similar happen?
