What causes a salty taste in the mouth? When I drink water it tastes slightly salty.?

When my husband drinks the same water he doesn't taste salt.

If you have mechanically softened water, it is possible for the water to taste somewhat salty to you. His taste buds may not be as sensitive as yours.
