Dental - March 2007

I get braces tomorrow and have to have them for 3-4 years... is it gonna hurt? What can i eat? what can i not eat? Will i be in pain forever? I go to Dr. Grace kurr (I dont know how to spell it but it sounds like krr) (short k and r sound) Please help me out!!! Thanyou so much! oh ya and i am almost 13 (if that helps)

My son came home from school with all sorts of teeth hygeign samples including some of those new colgate disclosing tablets. Unfortunatly there was no instructions on how to use them. He is bugging me to let him use them. Anyone know what to do with them? I am guessing let them disolve in warm water and swish with them maybe?

It is back by my upper molar, and looks like a detached piece of my gums, but it is white at the bottom and hurts alot (especially when it rubs) What could it be?

My 7 year old son has recently lost his 4th tooth.( Upper). I am just concerned because his adult tooth does not seem to be coming down....not that I can tell anyway.
It has probably been about 2-3 weeks since the baby one came out. Is this an ok time frame or should the adult one have started to poke through by now? I just know that his other 3 poked through pretty quickly after the baby tooth fell out.
The only thing that could possibly be a factor is that the day before his tooth fell out he copped a hit in the tooth. (Big drama......lots of blood, screaming and tears).
Is it possible that it was not ready to fall out and so the adult tooth isn't ready to come down yet? It was loose prior to being hit but probably not loose enough to fall out for a while?

They cost more than doctors. I can't figure out why it costs $450.00 for a root canal. I have checked with various dentists and that seems to be the going rate. And on top of that he works on someone elses teeth at the same time going back and forth.

i got a tooth coming through at the very bacl meft hand side of my mouth and i think its a widsom tooth, but am i too young to start growing them? it doesnt hurt or anything but my dad had to have all his taken out when he was younger cos they were growing side ways. i have raised bumps at the others corners in my mouth where i think other wisdom teeth will come through

3 years ago, because I had a tooth ache I had a dentist to look at it. At that time i was overseas and because I had to get back on the plane in less than a week, instead of injecting a medication to melt away the nerves, the dentist literally drilled a small hole into the middle of my molar. She then removed the nerves and filled it up.

When I came back from overseas, the filling came out fairly soon because i was chewing gum alot. I hadn't bothered to fill it up again because it didn't hurt anymore. Food scraps and things kept depositing in the small hole. After some time my molar chipped when i bit something really hard. I didn't take notice. 1 yr later it chipped again, i didn't care.

NOw it chipped big time and half my molar is gone. NOw i can see clearly how rotted the exposed bit it. I litereally have half a molar left, the front half.

What are my choices now? pull it out? stick something on? PLEASE HELP me with some ideas before going to a dentist.

My wisdom teeth have all grown in and are beginning to rot...ew! And I have close to about 10 cavities. I live in Olympia, WA, and understand that prices for dentists can differ greatly, but I was wondering if I could get an estimate of how much it'll cost to fix my teeth...with and without nitrous oxide. I'm really scared of dentists, so also, can they just drill all of my cavities at once? And I've never had a cavity until 2 yrs ago, so I've never had one drilled: does it hurt really bad? Thanks! :)

i have to go to the dentist on tuesday and i am so scared its not funny! i have never been this scared! i dont know why but i am teriffied!! my mum wont pay alot to get put too sleep, its its expensive, she will just say live with i, i go every 6 months so i have been since i was a little kid, now 13. This is so hard to explain. Lot's of recent dental work, I have been feeling pressure on and off daily between my top front four teeth and it feels like I move my top jaw and pop, air is released and they feel normal again. What is this? What is causing this? Any ideas?

I went to the dentist today to have my teeth whitened. While applying the whitener with the syringe, the syringe exploded! The whitener got into my gums, lips, and toungue. It bubbled and burned like acid and by the time I left the dentist, my lips were swollen like balloons. My mouth is still swollen and burning and now I am getting random, excruciating shooting pains in my teeth! I tried to get to a Dr but they were closed. I am so scared that my teeth are ruined for good! I am afraid to open my mouth or have anything to eat or drink because I am in so much pain. I don't know what to do. I heard of increased sensitivity after whitening, but I thought that was just with hot and cold- not randomly. Will this ever go away? What can I do- I think that stuff burned my mouth!

I have to get my wisdom teeth cut out in a week, but do they really make you wear a hospital gown during the surgery? If so, would they let me wear a jacket over it? If they see my arms, and the scars and cuts, they may make me go to the mental hospital...I want to get my wisdom teeth out, but I may have to cancel the appointmet.

I have a black dot, looks like a freckle or a very small little mole, doesn't hurt, way back by my molars. I don't know how long its been there, but I suspect not long. Maybe a blood blister? If anyone has had a small round black dot like a freckle in there mouth, particularly on the cheek, please let me know what it was for you.
