I have decided I want to change my dentist because I feel my current one no longer does a good job!! I feel he doesn't listen to me, and I feel he does not spend as much time checking my teeth as he used to. Thus can anyone recommend from personal experience a good dentist in the North London area (Tottenham, Wood Green, Crouch End, Winchmore Hill, Enfield, Hornsey or Camden areas preferably). I will also consider areas in Central London too.

Thank you!!

I had my 31 tooth pulled last month and my dentist is pushing me to get a titanium screwed in implant. It is the last tooth on lower jaw. The one on the other side needs to be pulled as well. The implants are expensive. The base is running me about 1200 and the crown will be about the same (my insurance will cover the crown but it maxes out at a 1000).

I am wondering if I even need it. I am eating just fine without it. I have been reading that a full lower teeth replacement only includes 24 teeth which is what I would have left after the two bottom are pulled.

He showed me this video he has where it shows the remaining teeth you have falling out like dominos if you don't get this. Does this really happen or is this a rare case?

I am seeing the specialist for a consult today, but I am sure he will say the same thing. Sometimes, I think some dentist are more salesman that dentist (atleast that is how I feel about mine).

It's for perio scale and root planing /quad. (On bill) $137.00
Perio root plan/scal 1-3 teeth. (On bill). $67.00
Total of bill is close to 200.00 dollars!

Seems kind of expensive just to clean the teeth. Probably a professional would know.

Every dentist office I called said that she has to be atleast 5 yrs old. My problem is that my family gets cavities easily. And unfortunately she has cavities, doesn't help that my mom gives her candy but I still brush her teeth and floss them. I know they're just baby teeth and will fall out but it looks bad and I don't want it to get to the point where she's in pain and can't eat. I need help with this. Also my other problem is she freaks out at doctor visit and I have to hold her. I can't take her to the dentist like that can I?

today i chipped a back tooth, pretty bad actually, and it was after my dentists office hours, so will have to make an appointment tomorrow. however, i was curious what they were going to do, also i just moved back here, and haven't been to this dentist in a long time, so curious if i will have to have my clean up too (just had one in jan, so i dont need it!). i am 33 weeks pregnant, so can't do xrays, and have a heart murmur so have to take antibiotics before i go to the dentist. am i going to have to take them to get this fixed? is that safe when pregnant? never chipped a tooth so not sure what is going to be done or what i should do. thanks for everyones help!!

my uncle works in a luxury ship, he brought home MANY used toothpaste containers. Some are just half- empty, others almost empty, still some seem almost unused. We don't know if he got it from his workmates there or who knows. Any research that says used toothpaste contain harmful substances or organisms deeming it unfit for usage or unhealthy to use?

Worried that it may harm them..

Thanks!

I have noticed recently that there are divits on my four front teeth right by the gum line. It almost looks like plaque (because they are slightly stained) but when I look closer I can see that they are actual indentations like the enamel is chipping away. The only difference in my brushing habits is that I started using the sonic brush 2x a day and I have used over the counter bleaching 2x in the past 2 years. Is this why I am losing my enamel? Are there any other possible causes for this to happen? Is there anything I can do to make them look normal again? Please advise....thanks!

Last week my front tooth started to hurt, I had chipped this tooth about 6 years ago and had a root canal done and a crown put over it. At first it felt like something was pushing on it. It got worse over next couple days so the dentist gave me antibiotics becuase he said it was infected. The pain got extremely bad for the next couple days, i had really bad pain in my gums above the tooth, all down my jaw and really bad headaches. Now most of the pain is gone but if I push on my crowned tooth it still hurts and I noticed that if I wiggle it, it moves back and forth a little. I wonder if it got infected because it has come loose, and if so how can it be fixed or how can i tell if the crown is loose, or the entire tooth is loose? It also has a post that was put in when I chipped it.. maybe that has come loose???

Hello I'm a freshman in college in Oregon. I am going to school to be a dentist. I have an okay GPA (3.6) , good study habits and am dedicated to doing a good job. I got a job last summer at a dental clinic as a 2nd assistant (mostly because I had an ***-kicking resume). I have assisted on many different surgeries (mostly extractions and exams), and learned many different skills that would apply to dental school. The problem is that I'm not completely sure I would be satisfied being a dentist. I am aware of earnings and requirements for each. $125,000 or $35,000(if I'm lucky), 8 years or 2, etc. I am worried I will grow tired of the repetion of being a dentist, being hated by most people, and not having a life for 4 years of intense dental school. I know the turnover rate for both is relativly high but I have previous experience as a lifeguard and I think it would be a much more exciting job to be a paramedic. Yet, it doesn't sound bad to make 6 figures and only work 3 days a week.

Hello all, here is my question. Any opinion would help....

I have been in SEVERE pain from my wisdom teeth coming in for about 3 days now. It started out just being a little "swore", but has developed into pure out annoyance and pain.

My dentist prescribed me amoxicillin incase of developing infection until I can see my oral surgeon.

I have great respect for my dentist, as he does for me (i hope so anyways haha), and am very afraid to ask for a pain killer to help me sleep at night (without feeling like a crack head)... until I can see my oral surgeon. I work 7 days a week and cant afford to lose sleep over mouth pain. If i seriously am IN pain, I should ask for something like this right? I have tried all OTC medications, all they do is keep some swelling down. I need 4 HOURS OF SOME RELIEF!

Also, when I try to eat I chew on my swollen cheek.

well my teeth are pretty straight, and all of my friends said that getting rubberbands was one of the last things they did for their teeth, does this mean i could only have a few months left? i know you can't really give me an accurate answer cause your probably not an orthodontist and don't know what my teeth look like, but from your experience, do the rubber bands mean im getting close to the end?

thanks

sincerely, Bob Seesk
