well my teeth are pretty straight, and all of my friends said that getting rubberbands was one of the last things they did for their teeth, does this mean i could only have a few months left? i know you can't really give me an accurate answer cause your probably not an orthodontist and don't know what my teeth look like, but from your experience, do the rubber bands mean im getting close to the end?

thanks

sincerely, Bob Seesk

I work as an orthodontic assistant and yes I'm sure your teeth are pretty straight by now, but what your orthodontist is doing with the rubberbands is correcting your bite. This is one of the final stages but, to give you a time line is impossible, as you already know, everyones bite is different and some correct faster than others. The one good piece of advice i can give you to speed things up is to wear you rubber bands as you were directed....at first they will make your jaws sore, but trust me that only last a few days and the more you wear them the better of you are and soon you will have a great smile :)

It all really depends. When did u get your braces on? The braces process usually takes around 2-2.5 years. I've worn rubber bands once during my process already (twice as in was ordered once, allowed me to stop), but now I have to wear them again after about 8 months w/o wearing them. However, I'm only about a year and a half into my process, and I still have at least a year more to go. So basically, your question would be a no for my case. But then again, everyone's gums and braces processes are different.

Good luck!

I had rubber bands a couple months before I got my braces off. My orthodontist told me that they were a finishing thing just to correct any thing left.

properly I even have braces too and that i exploit 2 categories of elastics or rubber bands theyre truly tiny elastics that pass on the two components of your mouth on little hooks clipped on on your brackets the reason you like then is by technique of the fact the braces and the cord can merely straighten your teeth and pull them at the same time yet like in my case my over chew isnt rapidly which merely ability in maximum circumstances that the line inbetween the your good 2 "bunny" teeth isnt inline with the centre backside 2 so the elastics bassically pass your teeth so as that the two components is semetrical merely be sure you place on them acording to while youre instructed or you will be able to enlarge your scientific care time additionally if your overbite is merely too small or too massive its pulls your teeth back or forward (your orthodontist provide you distinctive sizes at you pass by) desire it helped
