You need to make an appointment with your dentist. They can at least take a look at it and see what they need to do next. A loose, painful tooth is not a good sign.

go see a dentist or better yet if you have dental school near by is the best in my opinion...half the cost and you get really great care as the dentist will check students work...you might need extra fluoride that you can't get in over the counter toothpaste or mouthwash...you could be getting and abscess or at the very least an infection ...neither one one is good...take some Motrin for inflammation

clinching and grinding can also loosen teeth. Do you have extra stres in your life at the moment? You can have things happen due to stress, hormones, besides gumdisease or tooth abcess. If you catch your teeth biting together hard when just sitting, you are clinching. In a natural state, your teeth don't touch when you aren't using them. It is amazong what stress can do you. You didn't mention any bleeding or badbreath. Your dentis will have the answers. God luck

You should call and make an appointment to see the Doc. Have you had trauma to the tooth or the area? The sooner you can get seen the better

Many people have weak teeth because of genetics. I have a friend whose family all has weak teeth, despite the fact that they brush and floss well every day. It depends on your genes.

What you are doing wrong is not seeing your dentist about this problem. Don't wait for your semi-annual checkup if your teeth are loose and hurting!
