I am changing the colour of my braces soon. I want to support my soccer team, FC Barcelona, by wearing red and dark blue coloured braces, but i'm scared that it'd look bad. does it look excellent, good, ok, bad or horrible?

That's what they are made for, so you can have some fun with them! After all there isn't anything else with braces that IS fun, now is there? Unless, choosing the palatal color of your hawley retainer is your idea of fun! I've had patients come in and want the rainbow (every color I had, and that's a lot) colors for a month. I'm glad every body didn't want that, but it was fun for her and that's the point. You choose what ever colors you want to put together to show your support, a lot of my ortho patients used their school colors. After all if you decide you don't like the color, you can change the color next visit to where you support something else! Good luck and I think it's an excellent choice!

PS: The only colors I didn't care for in a combination was green and yellow (too much like, well you know) and never do white because it stains so quickly.

You can always ask them to put a couple in so you can see how they look before you commit to them, I've done this with patients a few times if I haven't been too busy. Just have a back up color if you decide to do different ones so you don't keep them waiting on you to decide on which ones.

Yeah, never get black OR yellow. Ick. Umm...personally, I thought the whole fun of braces was to expirement with the colors! Go ahead and try red and blue. I never had red, so I'm not sure how that looks, but I used shades of blue a lot.

I'm guessing you're talking about the bands they put around the braces. I think it'll look perfectly fine. I wouldn't worry, have fun supporting your team. If you don't like the colors, change them the following month, no harm done!

Have fun!

My daughter has red and black ones..I like them..Looks like a typical teen. Then again, I did just put blue highlights in her hair...I thought the braces would look terrible, they don't..

Honestly, I think colored rubber bands look funny because you're not used to seeing colors in people's mouths.

But, like someone else said, they are only temporary, so if you hate them you can always get them changed back at your next appointment.
