...it fell off while eating some, yeah you guessed it, candy. Now a few weeks later it has fallen out again and just doesnt seem to stay on. I cannot afford to get to my dentist right now and it may be a few weeks before I can. The post, or what ever its called that holds the crown in place looks terrible. I want to know it there is anything out there that will hold it in place for a week or two until I can afford to see my dentist. PLEASE no replied about just use my benefits, they are maxed for the year already. Thank you all in advance.

My 16 year old son is to receive a root canal on tooth 14 on March 21st, I'm a little apprehensive as he nor I have never had a root canal. What can I/he expect? Will he be in pain? How long after will he have to have a permenant crown placed? Will the endodontist prescribe pain medicine and antibiotics? Will he have to miss much school?

Has anyone been through conscious sedation, as for oral surgery? I'd rather not be put entirely under, but I'm way too much of a wuss to be fully conscious the whole time....How much are you actually aware of, under conscious sedation? Any anxiety/fear/pain during it? How long does it take to wear off afterward, and how much are you capable of doing before it finishes wearing off?

And now it won't fit, it's expanded.

Is there any home remedy for this? The dentists office is so far!

I have a question to dentists and dental assistants regarding dental anesthesia. What are the precautions or safety measures used to ensure that the dental tool used to inject anesthesia is not accidentally used twice on different patients without sterilizing. I am asking coz I am afraid that the dentist might forget to sterilize the tool and end up using it on me after being used on a patient before me and thus putting me at risk for HIV

is it common/normal that some people don't even have wisdom teeth?

I had little black spots on my molars, they have been there since i was 6 or less. I'm 18 now.....I used to have a dentist phobia when I was litle.....so i never went to a dentist before last month.
I finally decided to go to the dentist, he said that I have 8 cavities and they all need filling. I was very suspecious, so I thought I'd get a second opinion. I went to another one, she said I only have three. So I was a bit confused, I thought I would get a third opinion, the third dentist said they're just small caries that won't grow up and there is no need for filling...........I felt happy when I heard that. But now I'm kinda scared it's really cavity and they're growing up inside where i can't see. What should I do?
this is a pic of how they look http://www.flickr.com/photos/23156252@N00/424367805/ they're not my teeth but I took that pic and painted it and made it look like my teeth.I've had those spots since ever. they never grew bigger

I got 2 fillings done at the dentist this afternoon at 1pm, and now the anaesthetic has worn off and they feel quite sore. I've already taken some ibuprofen an hour ago, but there's a sort of dull ache in the whole top right side of my mouth where I got the fillings.

Is it normal for it to hurt after fillings? I've never had any before, so I don't know what to expect. How long will it hurt for and is there anything I can do to get rid of the pain other than take ibuprofen?

I have to go back next week for some more fillings and I'm scared to go back now, because my teeth didn't hurt before I got them filled!!

Are root canals supposed to hurt? I went to one dentist who did it pain free (male) and another dentist did it really painfully (female). Is this because the different teeth were problematic at a different level or is one dentist better than the other?

I want to get dentures, but my insurance will not cover them because they are considered "cosmetic". Does anyone know of any programs that can help me? I could afford some form of monthly payment but not the total cost all at once.

OK, so a while ago I had to go to the dentist with a terrible toothache and ended up having to get the tooth extracted because it was badly decayed. When I was there, he said I needed a fair bit of work done on my other teeth as well, fillings and stuff, but I never went back to get them done.

Anyway, it's now like a year later and my teeth are starting to hurt, sometimes pretty bad, so I'm going to go back to the dentist, but I just wanted to know - now that I'm getting toothaches, will I still just need to get fillings, or will I need to get root canals or more extractions?

What constitutes a "large" cavity as opposed to a "small" cavity? Obviously size, I'm not stupid, but I've had cavities that the dentist has described as large and there's only what I would say was a tiny hole on the biting surface of the tooth. Is it more to to with how deep the cavity is or how big the diameter is or what?

what does it feel like when wisdom teeth are coming in? The right side of my gum (behind my molars) is extremely irratated and when i touch it with either my thumb (or gently poke it) with my finger, it hurts a lot. Is this another tooth coming in?? Or did i somehow injure my gums?
