When the turn off the laughing gas, they run pure oxygen for a few minutes. The laughing gas leaves your system completely. You have no after effects, but MAN is it pleasant while you are under it's effects. Last time I had a root canal, I was disappointed when the procedure was over. I was lovin' that laughing gas!

Lots of dentists do this to relax the patient before they get near them with the IV, Had it done with and without and the laughing gas did nothing for me, You probably wont do anything embrassing while on it and if so most dentists have heard stuff before and brush it off.

it is not important to take sedatives before the dental procedure except if you have
1- severe stress from dental clinic
2-heart dieases to avoid the stress effect on the heart
3- to make the patient co operative with the dentist

Everyone is affected differently by anesthesia. For some people it doesn't work as well. Took my dentist five shots of novocaine to pull out just ONE of mine.
