My teeth moved around pretty quick..so I only had braces for 1 year...
also I had retainers..but in the first place..they didn't fit me very well..and I didn't tell anyone...

its been 3 years from then..and my teeth is still straight..but should I still worry about them getting my teeth misplaced??

I had braces because my jaw was small so not all could fit...so I had two taken out and thats it... and I had the bottom one pushed back a little bit...

But I'm still worried..because people are telling me to get new retainers..but I don't know how much it is and the trouble I'm going to go through...
I live in Australia as well...

next time you go to the dentist, ask them. my son had braces when he was 12 for a couple of years and didn't like wearing his retainer. his teeth are still straight, but he has a gap between his front teeth. you have a lot of growing yet to do so they might shift.

I had braces for six years and by the time they finally came off I wanted nothing to do with the retainers! I figured I'd had enough! So, I didn't wear them. My teeth still look pretty straight 10 years later, but I do notice some teeth that have turned a bit. My teeth are definitely not as straight as they would have been if I'd worn the retainers and sometimes I think about getting some new ones made to start trying to get my teeth back into place before they start to get really crooked again. I would say listen to what your dentist or orthodontist has told you... they know what they are talking about. You don't want to go through all of that just to have your teeth back to where they started!
