My friend from church recommended some books to me. However, I looked at them and they either say mental conditions don't exist or are caused by being sinful! I am very hurt. What should I do?

HOW??? and does it matter what time of the day you eat breakfast, b/c i usually wake up around 12 in the afternoon. Does that still count as breakfast or should i not eat until dinner????

I had oral surgeery Friday morning. My face is swollen and my mouth really hurts. I can't eat much at all and the meds they give me make me sick without food does any body have any suggestions or ideas that may help me feel more at ease? Thanks for any response in advance!!!

I have been going through some really difficult times with my marriage, my family and myself for some time.
My wife and I have been seeing different psychologists plus we go to two different marriage counselors.
One doctor is strongly convinced that I should be on anti-depressants and so is my wife.

My problem is that my problems are situational, that I dont need drugs - I just need to improve my life. I worry that my Dr. wants me on anti-depressants because it's an easy answer for him; and that my wife wants me on them for selfish reasons.

The last thing I want to do is change who I am, o get myself to a point where I cant live without them.

Any thoughts?

i have a friend who is a single mom live in hartford ct. she has 13 years old son in need of braces.dr ask 5000.00$ but her insurance dosnt cover mor than 2000.00$ dental. any idea how she can get the braces for her son and not paying more than 2000.00$.

I find myself tearing up hearing sad songs that never affected me before, looking at pictures of my parents and myself when they were young and I was a little boy, etc. My parents are only sixty and in good health. I even started tearing up watching "Castaway" with Tom hanks the other night. Has anybody experienced this "tearfullness" after getting off of Paxil? I don't feel any more depressed than when I was on it.

I am very seriously bulimic and have been for 6 years. This past week, it's been especially bad and from chewing so much food, I have horrible cuts and sores on my tongue, and the acid from the vomit only makes it worse.
Well I can't really eat or drink anything as of now because it hurts so bad - my question is, is there anything I can do to alleviate the pain or to make it heal faster? Also, what are some good foods or drinks I can eat without it hurting (anything even slightly acidic is out of the question!).

Please don't respond with remarks about my eating disorder. I know how serious it is and have been trying to get better (couseling, medicine, etc) for years. I don't need to hear what I already know about how I'm killing myself - just any advice on how to alleviate the cuts in my mouth would be very much appreciated.

My husband dropped a huge wrench on his toe nail, he was wearing only socks..I mean a huge wrench a 10-12 inch cresent wrench so its heavy anyway his toe nail the next day was lifted up just a little and is just this awful black & blue type green look to it, he thinks its going to fall off (Toe nail) now if it does, what happens to it? does one grow back? or what..? thanks for reading would love answers soon

Its like this, my friend is a 17 year old girl and is a heavy/chain smoker. I suggested she quit smoking (throw cigars), take nicotine gum and from there, slowly lessen the gum intake. I also told her to let us (her friends) keep her money and we'll just give it back when she's better (we are very very very trustworthy). Her parents know but she doesn't want to share it with them(i do mean it). She still wants to smoke a few sticks per day (15) but i'd rather not let her because she has little to no self control. Suggestions, anyone? Help. :(
