I am very seriously bulimic and have been for 6 years. This past week, it's been especially bad and from chewing so much food, I have horrible cuts and sores on my tongue, and the acid from the vomit only makes it worse.
Well I can't really eat or drink anything as of now because it hurts so bad - my question is, is there anything I can do to alleviate the pain or to make it heal faster? Also, what are some good foods or drinks I can eat without it hurting (anything even slightly acidic is out of the question!).

Please don't respond with remarks about my eating disorder. I know how serious it is and have been trying to get better (couseling, medicine, etc) for years. I don't need to hear what I already know about how I'm killing myself - just any advice on how to alleviate the cuts in my mouth would be very much appreciated.

I have a few broken teeth in my mouth, and every now and then I slip up and chew a piece of myself. When it's bad I use salt water and just swish it around in my mouth a bit. When my teeth hurt so bad it's painfull to eat I take some milk and an egg and a slice of bread and run it through the blender. No acid, and you don't have to chew or move your mouth much. I also take a vitamin pill and toss it in there every now and then. A Banana through the blender, with some ice cream, is good too. And filling. There are lots of blender recipies out there. As far as the cuts, I only know about the salt water. It stings a bit at first, but the cuts heal much quicker than if you just leave them alone. Another trick is to use some hydrogen peroxide. If you look on the bottle, it says you can use it as mouthwash. I mix it with water since the straight stuff makes a hell of a fizz in your mouth.

It may be due to digestive disorder or lack of vitamine B.
Get the digestion disorder corrected by doctor or antibiotics like metrogyl or so, under medical supervision. Take vit B complex and Vit C for general resistance. Mouthwash with salt water will surely help.

The medicine should be taken under medical advise only.

call your dentist. there are mouthwashes that aid in healing and contain lidocaine that will deaden the pain. some are Rx only...

if you can't call a doctor... go into your local pharmacy and ask the pharmacist.

for your eating disorder... that sounds horrible. i feel sorry for you. just remember that there is nothing in the world that is stronger than human desire. you can do anything that you set your mind to.

Swish with peroxide but dilute it with water and don't swallow.
