They do and then they don't. A tip to the wise. When getting a tatt make sure they aren't on your bone. It hurts when it is on a bone. It really differs from person to person how the pain is. It might hurt a little or none. I know from experince when i had mine done. It hurt alot because it was on my ankle bone. Just make sure when getting one. That the artist has done alot of them. Just ask how many have you done and such.

Tattoos can be very painful depending on where you get them. I have one on my lower back and it hurt like hell. It's also over a surgery scar, so that made it much more painful. It felt like a scalpel cutting into me over and over again, and when the needle went over the scar tissue, you could feel it slow from the thicker tissue. I was patient and got through it ok, but it was not something I was in a hurry to do again. I am now married to a wonderful Muslim man and tattoos are haram in Islam, so I won't be getting anymore.

Haven't you seen some of those cry babies in Miami ink. On the TLC chanel. They want a tattoo but then can't take the pain. Tears, squinting and holding on to a friend or chair for dear life, that's a hint that it don't tickle.

If I tell you it hurts...hurts badly will you forget about getting one?
I doubt it.....go join the hip crowd. Honestly, if you and your friend decide you really what a tattoo....why would you ever worry how painful it will be? Sure it can hurt but it will be over soon enough. Have fun.......

A friend of mine has had hers done on her lower back and she says it feels like someone is taking a sharp blade and pricking you really hard on one spot all the time. It bled quite a bit afterwards too and burned for hours...
Just remember you have it for life!

They hurt really really bad !! Plus they can easily get infected and distort the image !!!!! Could end up costing you a bundle to get one. Wait a year and if you still want it go ahead !!! Remember, it is forever !!! If you get sick of it to bad !!! You are stuck with it for LIFE !!!!! Tattoos also make you look cheap !!!!!! Are you sure that is the way you want people to see you?

It's been a few years since I got a 'tat, but as far as I can recall none of them hurt. (It helped that I had a few cans of brew beforehand!) They did itch like hell when they scabbed over, and I had a heck of a time not scratching. Itch, yeah. Pain, no.
