Hello everyone,, i am new to this board.... Today is my 9th day on lexapro 5mg. My doctor wanted me to start 10mgs after one week, but i asked for another week because i feel that im not ready for 10 yet. I am experiencing side effects pretty bad... although they are getting better, i have some nausea, headaches, feel a little "out of it", and the one that bothers me the most?! INSOMNIA!! I have to take a xanex at nite just to even be able to fall asleep, and i still wake up all night long. I notice that after i take my pill, for a few hours im kinda jittery, then around 5 hours after i take it im kinda zombied out... I guess what my question is is will these side effects, espicially the insomnia go away with time?? around how long? i need sleep in order to work!! and also my other question is, when i up my dose from 5 to 10mgs next week, will the side effects get worse?? Anyone that has any experience with this please give me some advice... ... also is it better to take it in the mornin or at night?? Thanks everyone...

i had surgery on saturday (vaginal hysterectomy) i am doing quite well, until about an hour ago, i am getting like a squeezing sensation under my righthand side of my ribcage, im not short of breath but it hurts when i take a deep breath, i dont want to make a fuss if its something simple like trapped wind stilll after my surgery, im moving about as much as possible to shift it if iti s trapped wind, but itrs not going anywhere at the minute, was wondering if anybody had any ideas out there???? and i promise if it gets worse i will phone the hospital.....just wanted to know if anyone else out there has had the same problem....i dont want any stupid or nasty answers please...thanks

ok well i am 12 years old and i have a jelly belly!!
dont tell me that i am to young to worrie about my weight because im not!!

My husbands cousin was diagnosed with stomach cancer on Sat. the 25th of Nov. He was admitted to hospital on the 21st of Nov. because he was yellow and he had anemia. He had stopped eating he was not hungry and could not even take his pills because he felt they would get stuck in his throat. He passed away on the 2nd of Dec. in the Hospital. He was only 31 yrs old. I have many many questions and dont know were to get the answers. My husband is devastated and he and i don't understand how he could of died so quickly after beeing diagnosed. The Dr. never said anything about him being so bad. They did say it was advanced and they were supposed to start chemo the Mon. after he passed. Does anyone know anything about stomach cancer. Can it take soemones life so quickly. or could there have been other things going on. Were can I get answers??

ok so a couple weeks before i was admitted i had strep throat and i took regular antibiotics and it went away, but then I had this really weird lump thing that i got on my neak around my lymph node...the doctors told me it was remnants of the strep and did surgery to 'drain' the absess the doctor said was there.. But 45 mins later when i came out of surgery there was nothing to drain and it was just a huge lump...

so i stayed in the hospital for a week and was on IV antibiotics and slowly but surely it seemed to go down and now there is no swelling at all and i was soon sent home.....
but now im always tired and sleep alot, also im always feeling faint and i have these achy pains all over sometimes, and occasionally chest pain....
oh and before the lump got there i made out with this random guy who might have been on steroids for westling....does this have anything to do with it?
has anyone had anything similar any suggestions HeLp!! ~~~~

I am reading a research paper on the risk of congestive heart failure in rheumatoid arthritis and there conclusion is: "Compared with persons without RA, patients with RA have twice the risk of developing CHF. This excess risk is not explained by traditional CV (cardiovascular) risk factors and/or clinical ischemic heart disease." Can someone explain that to me please if it is possible. Thank you so much.

about 2 years ago i started eating breakfast regularly because my college hours were longer. i use to just drink either milk or a malt drink before but for the past two years i've been eating a "proper" breakfast. i use to be really thin as well. but since i started eating a proper breakfast i've noticed that i've started to gain weight!
is this possible? if so, is there an alternative?

I stopped taken birth control 3 months ago. im guessing from trying to have a baby i got a bladder infection (since i've had never had one before i started trying) i finshed the meds the doctor gave me about 2 weeks ago and feel much better. no more pain or blood in my urine. im also 2 weeks late and im spotting. i keep thinking im getting my period and it never turns out to be it. (i havent had any kind of spotting since being off the bc just full blown periods) im spotting when i have sex or when i push it out. (like when i poop and its not actaully from pooping, nor is it in my urine, like the bladder infection) i heard it could be implantion bleeding. what do you think it could be?
