If they had never done exploratory surgery, it may have spread to other vital organs. I know a woman who was diagnosed with lung cancer and died 3 weeks later (day before Thanksgiving). I think this mainly happens to people who do not go to the doctor on a regular basis, and may ignore any symptoms they might have. By the time they are getting bad enough symptoms from the cancer, or it's affecting they're life, it's too late and the cancer has spread everywhere and the body probably goes into organ failure.
I had a friend who died of colon cancer - an extremely preventable disease - at the age of 42. He was slightly mentally challenged, so we just assumed that he probably had symptoms but had no idea what they could mean.

Most likely, the cancer had already progressed into a rapid stage prior to his first admittance to the hospital, which probably spread to other organs and resulted in shutting down.
Various forms of cancer can and does move fast. Some people can make it several months or years while others may not make it for a few days. This is why the disease is such a mystery and difficult to find a cure. Chances are, the chemo would have only prolonged his agony since it was already in it's final stages. When discovered in the early stage, there is more hope and a chance for remission. But discovering it in the 3rd stage will only prolong life for a few months if that.
Do a search in Google for "stomach Cancer". You can learn much.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Cancer is a very unforgiving disease and yes, it can kill very, very quickly. It is also possible that a secondary health issue existed, without an autopsy you may never know exactly what claimed his life. It is also possible to be asymptomatic right up until the body can no longer tolerate the disease. I talked to an oncologist about this and she said that young people are strong and healthy. Their bodies can tolerate and withstand the effects of cancer for a longer period of time than older patients. She said, the young body was remarkable in its ability to fight this disease, but eventually without treatment the tumors will begin to affect the vital organs . . and than the patient will begin to notice. She said, that the medical community is failing to warn young adults about the dangers of advanced cancer in young people.
My teenage son was diagnosed 20 months ago with a rare stage IV abdominal sarcoma. He was hospitalized for 33 days while they tried to stablize the disease. Two months prior to this diagnosis his pediatrician had given him a complete physical so that he could play sports. A month later he seemed to be having difficulty recovering from the flu. A blood test revealed a low thyroid, so he was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. Two weeks later he was sent to the hospital because his stomach was swelling. He had full blown ascitis and multiple abdominal tumors that had 'seeded' throughout the body . . . all within a two month period.
A week before diagnosis he had been playing basketball and working part time as well as attending high school. Because of his youth and strength he was able to live with his cancer undetected by anyone. Some cancers too are asymptomatic until they reach stage IV, that's why they are so dangerous. And, some cancers can grow large and spred very quickly . . my sons type of cancer was not only asymptomatic but it also can double in as little as 28 days.
His cancer predominately effects boys and young adults. It is a quick aggressive cancer with few survivors. I have known many of these young people who have passed away from this rotten, rotten disease. Some have passed within weeks or months of diagnosis.

My sincere condolences.... Yes, it can make you go just that fast. If he was only diagnosed with it on the 25th, there's no telling just how far advanced it really was. Without having full knowledge of the medical history, it's hard to say what exactly happened. If you are looking for all the answers, I'd go to the Dr. who was overseeing his treatment. If you aren't happy with the answers you get, remember, you have the right to request the medical chart and get another physician to review it and help give you some direction and closure.
Good luck with this. I'm sure it's not an easy time for any of you.

It sound's like the exact thing that almost happened to me.I'm Serious. It sounds like he had a veraces bleed. I drank for 30 years, my skin was a yellowish color and my stomach swelled. I looked 20 years older than I was. I told my wife to take me to the hospitol. I was diagnosed with Jauntice, acetes (WATERIN MY STOMACH) and damaged liver. I stopped drinking. that was in June. March 3 of the following year I woke up from a nap and v vomited blood,a lot of blood. I had to be revived twice the doctor told my wife and daughter that it was highly unlikely that I would servive the night. When blood can't flow thru major arteries it(blood) finds a way around , smaller, weaker veins and sometimes they break. I had 14 in my esophagus 2 in my stomach wall 1 was a main vein and I was actually bleeding to death into my stomach. I know its hard to understand but I know first hand. Cancers do the same. That was MAR 3 1999.

My uncle died of stomach cancer at age 41. To answer your question, by the time stomach cancers have been diagnosed, they have been there for years, and it is because of this, that stomach caner prognosis is never good. When cancers are found early, they can be terminated easily. So, to answer your problem, he had had it for years, it just wasn't diagnosed. Sorry for you loss, hon.

Out right here i've got ran throughout the time of each variety and none of it bothers me. i think uncomfortable around heavy reflects of public affection from all and sundry (gay or right away). all and sundry who flaunts something is seeking difficulty and basically searching for a reaction from those around. My son is 21 and right away yet (I accept as true with you) as long as regardless of that's, isn't in my face i'm comfortable with it. interior the top you basically gotta enable or not that is because of the fact like the immortal fact seeker Popeye as quickly as mentioned, "I yam what I yam and that's all what I yam."
