Post-partum is an SOB. But yes it is normal. The best thing to do is go and get help.
My sister in law has it (though she won't admit it) and their daughter is 3 years old and her and my brother are getting a divorce because of how irrational she is becoming with the post partum riding her.
Seek out help for both your babies sake , your families sake and your own!!

Yes, and it comes and goes in stages.
Call your ob/gyn immediately and ask for an appointment. Only the doctor can help you.
Tell then: Breathe and take a deep breath.
1. Check your sleeping habits - as I'm sure with a new baby you're not getting enough sleep.
2. Make sure you take care of yourself by (I know this is simple but it makes you feel better) showering each day with nice warm, soothing water. When I had no time, my baby was on my resting/sitting on my hip so we both took a warm shower (and it helped her if she had any breathing problems or a stuffy nose), and I made sure no soap for her eyes.
3. Make sure you're eating right, a good breakfast everyday, lots of fruit and vegetables, plus protein, and don't forget your vitamins & fiber tablets.
4. Dark chocolate works on the good reactions in our brains. Prepare homemade hot chocolate for yourself using hershey's cocoa and instructions are on the box.
I cut back on white sugar, and use splenda = 0 calories, and non-fat milk.
5. Smile each and everytime you pass a mirror. You are taking back control of your life.
Please call the doc and reach out to them for any questions you may need to have answered.
GOD bless.

My post-partum depression morphed into manic depression. I have been on bi-polar meds. for 11 years now. Get help ASAP. Talk to a psychiatrist. I couldn't even take care of my son after he was born. I just never was able to recover from the hormonal imbalance, and consequently, my brain chemistry changed. I wish you all the luck in the world. Please get help.
