No. Cold sores come from the herpes simplex virus. Anyone who has had chicken pox has this in their body. You can get a cold sore from someone who has one--but you do not pass the actual disease--it will go away in that case.

Cold sores are normally brought on by stress.

I was told that Herpes, Syphilis and Gonorrhea all originated from animals. I don't know how true this is. I'll have to research it now.

No this is a virus called herpes simplex- I think its the same family as shingles and chicken pox and can be related to stress
