about 2 years ago i started eating breakfast regularly because my college hours were longer. i use to just drink either milk or a malt drink before but for the past two years i've been eating a "proper" breakfast. i use to be really thin as well. but since i started eating a proper breakfast i've noticed that i've started to gain weight!
is this possible? if so, is there an alternative?

thank you in advance!

You're gaining weight because your calories have increased.

Cut back on breakfast portions or pick lower calorie choices. You don't need a "full" breakfast, even yogurt or fruit with whole grain toast is fine.

I don't think it's the breakfast that is causing you to gain weight. Everything I have read says that it's supposed to help control your weight because you are "jump-starting" your metabolism in the morning and giving your body fuel for the day. It could be that you are eating dinner too late, and not giving your body the time before bed that it needs to digest. As long as you are eating breakfast and small healthy snacks throughout the day, and eating a healthy dinner before 7PM---you should be fine. If not, I would talk to your doctor about it because something might be wrong health-wise. Hope this helps!

Sometimes what's advertised as the "proper" breakfast is just.. not. Lol. It contains a ton of calories, fat, carbs, sugar, whatever. That's not to say that you can't enjoy bacon, eggs, pancakes once in a while, but not on a regular basis if you have a tendancy to gain weight (like I do! :o) Eating breakfast IS important though, it gives you fuel for the rest of your day. I'd say go with tasty oatmeals with lower sugar (they make them now, like from Quaker I believe. They also make one that's really good called "Weight Control" with NO sugar at all, just Splenda).. they're not TOO sugary, taste pretty good, and give you the fuel you need. You could eat some fruit with it - pineapple, melon, berries, apple, banana, etc.. Have a glass of non-fat milk or half a glass of orange juice even. Try eating whole-grain or whole wheat breads instead of white. Use cheese sparingly.. a serving of cheese is only a 1 inch cube anyway.. You could try eating a piece of whole wheat toast with a spoon of peanut butter and some sugar free jam, and half a banana sometimes. Do it breakfast, just try choosing healthier things and eat smaller portions if you see you're gaining weight. Everything in moderation is ok, if you ask me. Good luck! :o)

Remember, calories in -vs- calories out. You, my dear, are not exercising or burning enough calories to compensate for the caloric gain you are having. Keep eating breakfast and try looking for foods that will help you in learning. It is said that acidic fruit juices are good; orange, grapefruit, apple, etc. Also, try to stay away from heavy fats and cholesteral foods; eggs, butter, sausages, etc. (Although, if you go a long time between eating breakfast meats can get you through the day and your HDL will not be so bad.)

If you are not about to change your diet you can exercise more. Also, to get a good look at the types of foods that are out there that you can eat and stay slim go to www.glycemicindex.com.

Good Luck.

You gain weight when you take in more calories then you burn.
This has nothing to do with breakfast...it is just your diet in general. Figure out your daily caloric need- there are numerous sites (24 hour fitness website has this calculator). Then eat within that range...or drop it %5 and add exercise to lose weight.

Eat 5-6 meals daily, exercise, don't exceed your caloric need...it really is that simple...it is just so many people lack the discipline.

Good luck with your fitness!

Your calorie intake must be equal to the amount of calories burned in order for you to maintain weght. Since you are gaining, you are taking in more than you're burning. What is in your full breakfast? Bacon, eggs, pancakes with syrup? Just have a piece of fruit and or toast for breakfast to keep your metabolism up but calories down. Cut those calories and your weight will drop back down.

Gainning weight has always been and always well be from lose of something.
When you get a lot of money what do you do with it?
When you have a little amount of money what do you do with it?

When you start gainning weight you have lost something and you start to collect things to compansate. Look back to right before you you started gainning weight. What did you lose? Now what did you do to that person or object? Say it out loud. Good
You should now feel very relieved that it is out there now.

nicely, there are a pair factors right here. You all started eating much less. once you consume much less your bodies metabolism slows DOWN. Your physique knows it would desire to no longer get all its food so it slows down how briskly it burns them. you actual might desire to consume numerous small nutrients an afternoon. attempt no longer eating 3 hours previously you bypass to sleep. you opt for to objective and burn those energy previously going to mattress whilst your physique is the least energetic. additionally, placed down the Pepsi. It has a TON of sugar which works in the present day to fat. tricky to coach that for the duration of to something the physique can truly use. attempt eating water (i know it sucks.) extra interest will strengthen your muscle tissues. Which in turn weighs extra effective than fat. you will possibly actual look the comparable yet have actual lost fat and altered it with muscle that weighs extra. those are extremely some the flaws which you're doing incorrect on your "food regimen". Make those adjustments and you will see a turn around. Watch the energy besides.
