I need ideas/recipes on yummy appetizers that can go with red and white wines. I will be serving Cab, Shiraz, Merlot, Pinor Grigio, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, etc.
I have the cheese list covered, just looking for other ideas outside of the cheeses and bruschetta.

my grand parents had a recipe for breakfast dumplings/biscuits that they called dingbats,
I don't know why they called them that, would anybody know a source for finding this recipe?

My cookie dough seems a little tough & sticky.

It's a speacial made up recipe, it has: milk, flour, sugar, butter, & vanilla extract.

Is there anything i can put in it or do to it to make it more.... better?

I guess softer & more workable.

Like it said, it's kinda solid & sticky. I just made it & it's sitting in the fridge as i type. Just waiting on an answer!

Thanks

Beef Short Ribs "Rossini"
Braised beef short ribs au jus, foie gras, brioche crouton, garlic mashed potato

This dish came from Iridescence at the Motor City Casino in Detroit.

How do I make the Braised Short Ribs?

Can anyone tell me if I can throw bratwurst and sauerkraut in a crock pot and 4 hours later it be done? My daughter has an international feast tomorrow at school. I had to come up with something from Germany. I just bought 3 lbs brats and a bag of sauerkraut. I am hoping I can throw it in the crock pot before I leave for work, come home at noon and drop it off at her school. Can this be done or do I have to boil or brown them first?
Please don't suggest different German recipes because it's late and the brats, sauerkraut and applesauce are all I bought for this dish.
Thank you so much for helping a frantic mom whom thought I could just throw them together and be done!

I cooked some chicken on it last night. I usually use non stick foil to avoid having to clean up much afterwards, but I ran out and needed some dinner. Anyway, the chicken left this white residue on the grills that look like powder like stains and I have tried washing them in the dishwasher and rubbing them with a hot wet rag and soap, but it won't come off. Any suggestions??

I need my ham to be done by 12:00 on Christmas day for lunch. I have a roaster oven that I want to cook it in. What temp should I set it on to cook the ham so it will done by 12:00? I really don't want to have to be in the kitchen with it early in the morning because the kids will wake up and I don't want to miss the presents. Oh, my ham was given to my husband at work and is not precooked at all.

I don't know how to cook. I am extremely lazy in the kitchen and want to learn to make good, tasty meals that require a MINIMUM of preparation* and utilize as many shortcuts as possible (e.g. frozen veggies, pre-made stir fry sauces, etc.).

I love vegetables and chicken but don't eat red meat. I prefer ethnic flavors such as thai, indian, asian etc. I'm thinking learning some stirfry techniques might be a good place to start, but I'm open to other ideas.

What are the best cookbooks for me to try? In addition to a lack of cooking technique, I also know very little about basics such as stocking my kitchen. Thanks!!

*Ideally 10 minutes or less.

I am making onion salad for Christmas, and i have made it once before, but I cannot find my recipe. I know it calls for 1 purple onion and 3 white onions, but I cant remember what the brine consists of. I know it was water and vinegar, but I am not sure of how much and if that was it. And I know the next day you mix mayo and celery seed in it, but Im not sure how much. If anyone knows the recipe it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
