I have been looking at some of the recipes on here and have decided for my first attempt at cooking a ham I wanted to try the coke and brown sugar recipe. My family isn't crazy about pineapples, so these are the only two ingredients I want to use. I have a precooked, 7 pound, bone in, spiral ham. Can someone please give me suggestions for cooking time, basting, using a roasting bag, etc? Thanks in advance!

They're wedges, it says to put them in the oven for 18 - 22 mins, but even after 30 mins they're still hard in the middle, is it a good idea to fry them in a wok after it with a little oil, and some cracked pepper and garlic...??

I want to make a pumpkin cheesecake tonight; but it calls for i can of evaporated milk. And i don't have that. What are some substitues that won't make the pie to watery, or un-creamy (if that's a word :)

Thanks and Merry Christmas!

For Christmas eve, I'm having a couple of friends over for vegetarian lasanga because I'm a vegetarian. I'm going to do that and a couple of side dishes, and I have time to plan a desert too although I could ask one of them to do it, I would kind of like to make a pie myself, but I do an apple pie every year. Then there is pumkin pie but it's kind of predictable and I'd have to use the canned filling, so it would taste like everyone else's pumkin pie. I don't want fruitcake or anything soaked in booze. I'm a really good cook but I need ideas.

What do you splurge your money on (and cheat upon your diet for that matter) around the Christmas time of the year?
For example, at some point during this time of year I have to succumb to pumpkin pie, apple cake, and butterscotch kisses from Sees Candies.
What do you have to have at this time of year that you do not crave at any other time of year?

Has anyone tried Julia Child's recipe for Christmas pudding? Did you like it? It looks easy, but I'm not spending 6 hours steaming something if it's not tasty. Opinions?
