My recipe calls for "1 whole chicken, cooked, boned and chopped". First of all, how do I cook a whole chicken. Secondly, is there a way to cheat, like buying it a can or something??

I don't want little smokies, mexican dip, etc. I want upscale nice tried and true recipes for a nice cocktail party I am throwing on Christmas Eve. I am a pretty good cook so anything is good. Please make sure you have actually made the recipe.

I am serving a deli tray with meats and cheese and rolls tonight along side a bowl of broccoli and cheddar soup. Since I am assuming the soup will fill people up, they will only have one or 2 sandwiches. How many pounds should I have? I have 3 right now but I am going out soon and wanted to know if I needed more? Thanks!

I'm making sugar cookies and the recipe calls for "3 TBS cream". I don't have any and no car right now to run to the store. Any substitutes I can use that won't ruin the consistency of the cookies? Please tell me the ingredients and measurements to make 3 TBS. I have 3 cookie-hungry kids here waiting for your suggestions. :)

Does anybody have a recipe for the rice they serve at Greek restaurants (with Greek salad, souvlaki or legs)? It looks like plain rice without vegetables and it tastes delicious! I have no idea how to make it! Any recipes?

I'm making a gingerbread house
Im just wondering whether (for the house) whether you can use the recipe for gingerbread men, or whether you have to use a special recipe for gingerbread houses.
if you need a special recipe it would be great if you could give one

Thanks

I am making dinner for my Dad tonight - we are having Christmas tonight before we both go out of town. I am making roasted pork loin with a mustard honey glaze, and am serving a side dish of roasted vegetables (butternut squash, red and yellow bell peppers, potatoes, carrots, onion, etc.)

What is another side dish that would compliment this?

Rememember when you was a kid there was this one food that no matter what kind of mood you were in would always make you feel better. For me there is nothing like a PB & J sandwich with a glass of milk on a Saturday morning watching cartoons til mid day. Those were the good ole days....

We have two Christmas Dinners. One on Sunday with my brother and his family (he and his SO work on Christmas so we do it early) and one on Christmas day. For Christmas Day I'm making Pumpkin Pudding (pie with no shell). What should I make for the one on Sunday? It can't have milk products in it--or they have to be substitutable with lactose free products (no half and half, no cream, no ice cream).

I really love those boxed cake mixes made by Duncan Hines, Betty Crocker, or whoever. However, I'd love to try making some of those cakes from scratch. I'm having a hard time finding some good recipes for just a simple, from scratch, white/yellow cake. Please help! Thanks

I have these at home and I want to cook something nice out of them. I have no meat, and I only have things like flour, oil, sugar, vinegar, cheese, eggs, and spices. I want to mix the vegetables together to make something delicious, but I'm afriad that it might turn out to be totally disguisting. Do you have any ideas?

So, my sis wants to take me out to dinner for Christmas but I really have to stop eating at restaurants because I have major food sensitivities and just need to start eating healthy again. she wants to take me to a nice restaurant but I know the food will make me feel blech. Should I suggest we do something else? She loves to eat out and I used to, but now the processed, preservative filled foods make me sick.

How do make a home made cheese fondue? Nothing too complicated, just basic stuff.

Then what can I serve that will go lovely with the cheese?
I know that I can use bread, but is there anything else, or maybe a specific type of bread?

Any advice would be great!

Looking for the name of an old gentleman that used to host his own cooking show. He used to wear bibb over-alls....he drank a glass of wine with all of his meals....he was heavy-set...he was based in Louisiana ( I think ) and cooked mainly cajun/creole dishes......He had a wonderful sense of humor and never failed to insert it into his cooking "lesson". My new boyfriend had one of his cookbooks but lost it. I'd like to suprise him with a replacement. Any help would be appreciated.
