My grandmother made something we called "Memere's Chop Suey" it was very oriental tasting which is suprising since she was a French Canadien. She would serve it on toast points. She's been gone 24 years now but I have her recipe book and this time of year I always make it to share with the family.

Home made Cherry Pie that my mom made after we had picked the cherries from the three cherry trees we had in the back yard and a large cold glass of milk out of a glass bottle not a plastic one.

Mine would have to be 'eegy in a cup' - i only just found out that it is actually mased up boiled egg mixed with butter and salt (sooo unhealthy lol).
I also loved cheesy beans and still do occasionally - that is a spoon of philidelphia soft cheese mixed with beans when heating them up!
Finally I loved weetabix with hot water (mixed in till no liquid left) and loads of sugar.
As you can tell we didn't have loads of money when I was growing up so my mum always managed to make simple boring but cheap food seem really exciting (god kids are so gullable lol)

My good old days are even older than yours. I remember going to my Swedish Grandma's house and smelling the coffee and cinnamon buns. I loved unrolling those buns and dunking them in the coffee (which was full of sugar and cream). To this day I make those same buns and think of her every time I have one.

KFC was a real treat in our household. Usually only for birthdays.
Fish and chips was something I loved. I'm allergic to fish now.
Other than that, chocolate instant pudding.
