I dated a girl from England back in 1997, and she made this thing she called "olive fritters". It was kind of like a pastry or something, and I do believe they were fried. Does any one know how to make these things?? They were really good, and I can't find a recipe for olive fritters ANYWHERE!

1.) I can't remember where I put my electric whipping device (to whip cake batter). Would it be effective if I stirred the contents of the cake batter myself or used a wire metal whisk?

2.) Instead of using vegetable oil, I was taught (by my mother) to use applesauce instead. How much should I use for a basic chocolate cake?

I have a loaf of raisin sourdough from the local farmers market that is several days old and getting hard - I would love to make a nice bread pudding using this.

A three course meal would be wonderful! Also, a non-alcoholic drink to go along would be great.

No alcohol in the food, please.

And nothing to bizarre, I have to be able to find ingredients at a local grocery store!

Thanks for any help! I'm very excited for this meal!
