My friends are having about 12 people over this weekend to watch a football game and just hang out (guys and girls). It isn't football themed or anything, but everyone is supposed to bring a small "snacky" sort of food and that will basically serve as our dinner. First, I'm thinking the typical snack foods will not do for dinner, so I'm wanting to make something that seems "snacky" but is actually more filling (healthy if possible, but not necessary). Second, I'm not trying to go with chips, dip, a fruit/veggie tray or anything like that. Finally, I'm limited on funds and time, so something that takes less than 1/2 hour would be ideal. Any suggestions? Thanks!

There is just my husband and I and alot of times when cooking with cream of mushroom, chicken, celery or whatever soup I don't need the whole can. I only use about 1/2 to 3/4 of a can.I usually store it in the fridge and toss it out if not used in a couple of days.Has anyone ever froze the leftover cream soup to be use later? Did it freeze well?

The baby is on most things now (mashed down of course). I am a terrible cook, and want us all to start eating helathy as we survice on processed food at the moment (not the baby though, she has home cooked baby meals or jars)

But if you know of any VERY EASY and tasy recipes it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Jelly? Jam? Preserves? Fruit spread? If so, what FLAVOR?

Nutella? Mayo? Wheat Germ? Fresh fruit? Nothing? Marshmallow Fluff?

I like blackberry preserves or plum jam, myself, and also like peanut butter on hamburgers.

I eat meat, but no one else in my family does. I can make enchiladas with chicken, but I'm not sure how to make them without it.

I have a recipe for awsome halloween punch! But would like some more ideas! Here's mine
Pumpkin Nog

1/2 gallon vanilla ice cream (melted in a bowl or 3 gallon pitcher)
1 16 oz can pumpkin pie mix
2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
42 oz of peach nectar (Goya or simlar)
Whipped Topping in a can

Whisk the melted ice cream and peach nectar together.
Add the pumpkin, and wisk until smooth, add the pumpkin pie spice. Let rest in the frige for about 2 hours, the longer you let it rest in the frige the better it tastes, tastes awsome the next day!!!!
Pour into glasses and top with whipped topping and a "fat" straw (I can't reccommend a silly straw it's too thick for that)
Best Served Cold. Sometimes it will seperate slightly, just give it a shake, and enjoy!

Any other idea's??

I'm very fond of barley and would include it in more of my cooking if there was a parboiled variety (like so many brands of rice out there), but I can't find it in any of the stores I have tried.

And I would like to know whether barley contains gluten. Are you sure it is the same kind as wheat gluten? How about rye, oats, etc? I like the taste of oats and sometimes I have rye as a change of pace, but I don't know if they have gluten.

Thanks to all serious answers!

Does anyone have a recipe for potato skins, I think there is one where you mix the scooped out potato with some kind of cheese and top it with bacon etc. Thanks in advance

any suggestions? I have a pretty solid spice rack, most baking ingredients and an array of oils. I have a lot of coconut flakes and I don't want to go to the store after work, I just want to come home and cook. I am looking for a recipe similar to that of the fried coconut shrimp they serve at restaraunts with a sweet dipping sauce. I also have plenty of apricot preserves if anyone as sauce ideas.

I'm not too good at baking, but one of my friends has a birthday and I'd like to surprise her by making her some cupcakes. My question is, can you buy the premade cupcake mix at the store or do you just buy the regular cake mix and you just make it in small portions? Thank you :)

It would be good if you know this from personal experience as opposed to items advertised as "won't warp" since most of those ads are lies. Thanks.
