I bought mushrooms today on sale, they are fab - round, white,
succulent. What should I do with them? Do you have any recipes, easy to use, and that you tried? Something simple, without too many spices and ingredients, and I am vegetarian. And I am not in to butter, cream, sour cream, mayo and things like this.
Please, no pasting and copying from web sites.

Dairy (all forms, milk, cheese, butter, etc)
Processed corn (corn syrup, corn starch, not the actual food corn)
Peanuts

I need something that doesn't have any of that whatsoever in there. It's so hard to find something.

I just bought some for one recipe, but I'm not going to be using the whole jar. What else could I use tarragon for? And while you're at it, if you're an herb and spice culinary expert, could you tell me some uses for other spices and herbs? Basil and oregano are my two favorites, particularly because I know they're typically used in Italian cooking. I love Italian! Other than that, I got a whole slew of herbs/spices in my kitchen and don't really know what to use them for!! Sometimes I experiment with my eggs in the morning. Today, I used tarragon and dried onions along with my regulars: salt and pepper. The other day I used some cooking sherry, old bay seasoning, minced dried garlic and onions and my regulars. It was pretty good.

So, any tips on other herbs/spices?

I was born in Malaysia and immigrated to US. When I think of Malaysian food, I think of Malaysian Satay (both Chicken and Beef). I am hoping that all ingredients on that recipe can be easily found in US grocery store. Do you have the authentic satay recipe? Please share.

I have dozens of carob trees here, but I do not know how the carob flour is made. Is it from the seed only, or is the whole bean mashed?
On the moment I only use it for animal feeding.

I need some advice as to which time of rum I should use when making a home-made butter rum sauce. It will be incorporated into other baking, and possibly as a sauce served drizzled over a cake for presentation.

Does dark rum have a more molasses-type flavour over the clear rums?

Actual brand names would be helpful! Cheers
