I was making chili and thought a spice pack I picked up would be good, but the basil is WAYYYY too strong. How do I 'cut' it or make less overwhelming?

I'm making a pot roast for dinner, but the roast was too large for my crock pot. I had to cut about a pound of meat off. What other way can I cook the extra meat to make a totally different meal? Does anyone know a non-traditional pot roast recipe I could make with only one pound of roast? (SERIOUS ANSWERS, ONLY.)

I usually entertain guests each Thanksgiving, and I always start planning for it around this time. This year, though, I seem to have run into a problem. I usually make all the traditional fixings...And after 5 years I think it may be getting dull. I have no idea what to make next...Anyone know of a non-traditional dish(or dishes) that should fit in well with the Thanksgiving theme? Something appealing to the eye and taste. Something maybe a bit exotic... Thanks!

My BF and I bought a box of ravioli (meat filled) the other day and I promised I'd cook them for him this weekend. However, of course he has no idea how to prepare ravioli and I already told him some of the ideas I have:

Mushroom creamy sauce
Green pepper creamy sauce

Of course with cheese on top.

He thought about putting some Ragu tomato sauce on them instead, or no sauce at all (which I don't think is a good idea), and then he thought about a 3-cheese sauce and some parsil sprinkled on top, and then the cheese.

We're struggling to make a decision and he thought it'd be a good idea to come here and ask... does anyone have a good idea about how to prepare my ravioli?? A good and EASY sauce that you have tried? Or no sauce and maybe other ingredientes involved?? Thanks in advance for your advice.

My husband has to bring lunch for 14 (they take turns each month). Any suggestions for something simple that would be vegetarian-friendly? They have no facilities for cooking anything, a small microwave, though. Also he commutes by train so he can't haul in a crock pot or anything like that. Thanks!

Preferrably something easy to transport (from NY to NJ) and, of course, something delicious!

Thanks!

Hey all! Well, I recently moved to PA and have not met many people. So, I have been invited to a scrapbooking party and I don't know what to take. I would like some good recipes that are easy and inexpensive. I also would love for them to be creative. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and God Bless! :)

My husbands best friend and his girlfriend recently moved into town. They've been together 7 months and still find wet towels on the floor "adorably forgetful" She loves to invite us over and cook fancy meals and then quiz us on it as we try to enjoy "Is it good? no really, don't lie, is it really good or just okay? how good is it? do you like it? You can tell me" And when we tell her yes we like it she gives me the HA! I'm a better woman than you look. Gah! Its uber annoying. SO. I've decided to make the meal to end all meals and shut her up once and for all. Last night she made chicken fettuccine Alfredo, some kind of nasty spinach bread and mud pie. So someone give me a few things that will knock the socks of these guys! And something involving boneless skinless chicken breasts is even better because I have a bag of them in the freezer! Thanks to all who help me in my quest to dominate lol

I'm a bit useless in the kitchen and want to learn how to cook. I'm not looking for a qualification really, I just want to be able to cook better at home not become a chef. I'm happy workin in IT.

Central London or North London would suit me. Monday nights best (but suggestions would be good right now).
I've seen a few college courses that run for a year (and have already started), but these seem more geared towards people wanting to work with food. I want to develop a hobby really, a year seems like a big commitment plus their price tags....

Suggestions? Thanks!
