I'm a bit useless in the kitchen and want to learn how to cook. I'm not looking for a qualification really, I just want to be able to cook better at home not become a chef. I'm happy workin in IT.

Central London or North London would suit me. Monday nights best (but suggestions would be good right now).
I've seen a few college courses that run for a year (and have already started), but these seem more geared towards people wanting to work with food. I want to develop a hobby really, a year seems like a big commitment plus their price tags....

Suggestions? Thanks!

California Dreaming -

Take two large ripe avocados, pit them, and scrape their pulp into a dowl. Add three tablespoons of lime juice, one half teaspoon of salt, four canned green chiles, one tablespoon of grated onion, one tablespoon chopped pimento, and one clove minced garlic. Blend until smooth as your, um, cheek. Then garnish with one dozen celery sticks, one dozen carrots, and sprinkle top of this dip with one tablespoon of pomegranate seeds.
