My BF and I bought a box of ravioli (meat filled) the other day and I promised I'd cook them for him this weekend. However, of course he has no idea how to prepare ravioli and I already told him some of the ideas I have:

Mushroom creamy sauce
Green pepper creamy sauce

Of course with cheese on top.

He thought about putting some Ragu tomato sauce on them instead, or no sauce at all (which I don't think is a good idea), and then he thought about a 3-cheese sauce and some parsil sprinkled on top, and then the cheese.

We're struggling to make a decision and he thought it'd be a good idea to come here and ask... does anyone have a good idea about how to prepare my ravioli?? A good and EASY sauce that you have tried? Or no sauce and maybe other ingredientes involved?? Thanks in advance for your advice.

if you can't decide on cream sauce or red sauce, try this:

2 cans italian tomatoes (diced or crushed)
8 oz. heavy cream

if you like more sauce, you can add more tomatoes and cream - it's up to you!
it'll be a creamy pink/red sauce. add cheese on top, and done! really easy and semi-home made!

If the ravioli is just meat I use a basic tomato sauce (Ragu is fine) and grate some Parmesan cheese over the top. In some cases for a bit more fun I use an herb sauce or pesto. Give it a nice flavor.

All those sauces sound really good. If you go the no sauce route, heat some olive oil, saute some garlic and throw in the ravioli (after boiling them according to directions) and then top it off with some parmesan cheese.

Or you can do it like Olive Garden - make enough pasta for the two of you, make two or three different sauces and try them all!

You have some good ideas going here! I would suggest a pesto sauce personally but for meat filled tomato cream sauce a little red chili flakes for that Southern Italy flare. and of corse a handful of parmesan or romano cheese and some chopped basil and parsley. for the fun of it pop some garlic bread in the oven, and toss a green salad with some balsamic vinegarette!!
Good luck :)

I stopped the jar foods at 7 or 8 months. My son is 11 months and he wasn't into the next stage up foods and then as soon as I gave him some of my food, he was done, PERIOD ;) Today our menu was: Breakfast- Milk, banana and Cheerio's Snack- apple (in one of the fresh food savers) juice 3 cheese puffs (gerber) 5 yogurt melts (gerber) Lunch- a half a piece of organic Turkey (I heat it up a little) a half a piece of whole wheat bread some orange slices Milk Snack- Cheerio's Juice Dinner- Tilapia carrots Milk whole wheat pasta dried mango and banana (by whole foods, it also melts in the mouth like the yogurt melts) He also gets sippy cups in between all of this and a bottle at night before bed. Most of the food usually goes on his face, the floor or even the dog, he just learned that is is hilarious to feed the dog food, GREAT lol ;) My doctor says that food at this stage is just a learning processes and that he should be getting most of his food from breastmilk/formula. Elijah also loves tangerines and peaches as well as YoBaby Yogurt and ravioli and tortellini and corn tortillas. He is not a fan of chicken, beef or pork, but we don't really eat a lot of meat besides fish (we are not vegetarian, just healthy!). We are working on the meat still!

I use either a jarred spaghetti sauce or a jarred 3 cheese sauce. Depends on your personal preferences. For side dishes, I like a lettuce or spinach salad or asparagus. For desert, a LITTLE orange or rainbow sherbet. To drink, how about your favorite flavor of cranberry juice mixed with either ginger ail or a lemon lime soda for a nice PUNCH.

Grab a tub or two of pesto from the store. Just boil, drain, and toss with pesto and add the cheese. It's one of my favorite weeknight meals. You can also add anything else like the sauteed mushrooms and extra toasted pine nuts.
