I tried using a microwave and saucepan but it burned---- I think I'm just doing it wrong. By the way i dont have a double boiler! So can someone please give me instructions or webpages on how to melt chocolate!Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am really bad at frying eggs, I usually either add a ton of oil to fry them, so they wont stick, or a little oil and then they do stick. Is there like an amount of oil that isn't too greasy but wont make the eggs stick to the pan. (Yes I do coat the pan if that matters)

Does a cake get stale after one day? Like if i bake it today and frost it, will it taste bad or crummy tommorrow? Thanks for the advice!

PS. Its not really frosting, i am topping it with 'Cool Whip.'

I have tried substituting Crisco for the butter, and/or a combination of butter and Crisco...everything you can imagine. All other cookies I make come out great - nice and puffy, chewy in the centers - but my chocolate chip cookies practically run off the sides of the pan! I've even had my oven adjusted and tested for the correct temp! Help! Haha... I don't get it!

Whats the best cook book(s) to buy for total beginners. I want to learn how to make all the "classics"!

Also want the meals I make to be pretty healthy! (all that boozings gonna be unhealthy enough!)

Can anyone suggest any books/ any other ways of learning how to cook tasteeeee meals?

where do these people come from? institutions? prison`s? where there meals are made for them? my daughter has been cooking with me since she was 5.. and she is now 13.. not once did she ask me how to make a sandwich..or how do i make a hamburger.. nor how do i make french fries..and to the guy that said there are alot of things you put into making fries? what are you doing to them? you prepare them.. you heat the oil and deep fry them.. and you take them out of the oil and drain them on paper towel and salt them..what more could you do to them?

I am a picky eater. I don't like mangos, kiwis, blueberries, seafood, pork, ham, sausages, pepperoni, and that's only the beginning. My mother is Japanese so she always makes Japanese dishes, most which I do not like. For me she makes basically the same meals every day and I'm starting to get tired of chicken, rice, curry, stuff like that. I want something new but something I also like. Any suggestions?

I must admit i am not a huge Weetabix fan anyway, but the recipes seem ludicrous!

on Thursday I am leaving the husband and kids behind, and I'm going to hawaii for 2 weeks. I do most of the cooking at home, so my husband.....Well, honestly aint to good at it. I want to make sure my family is still eating square meals while I am gone. So are there some meals I can make and freeze, or any other suggestions will be healpful too. :)

Over the last year or so I've got quite good at making basic white and wholemeal bread (it's really light and got a good crust). I turn it into rolls/loves ect. It's really addictive but I'm stuck for ideas. I've made garlic bread but beyond that not really sure what else to do.
