1/4 lb. canned chopped green chilies, drained
13 ounces canned tomatillos, drained and rinsed
1/4 cup onion, chopped
2 sprigs cilantro or parsley
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup chicken stock
1 tsp. sugar

Combine first 4 ingredients and 1 clove garlic in a blender or food processor. Blend or process until smooth. Pour into a nonreactive saucepan and add stock, sugar and pepper to taste. Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer 10 minutes.

Here is a recipe for Mole Verde (Green Mole Sauce)

1 12-ounce can tomatillos, drained and rinsed
1 4-ounce can green chili peppers, rinsed, seeded and cut up
1/4 cup vegetable broth
1 small onion, cut up
1/4 cup chopped walnuts
1/4 cup blanched almonds
Several sprigs cilantro
1/4 tsp. salt
Dash pepper

In blender container combine all the ingredients. Blend until smooth. Heat sauce in pan.
