I'm just starting trying out cooking and I marinated the chicken in teriyake sauce and then cooked it on the stove. I think I over cooked it. How do I know when the chicken is done? How can I be sure that it is fully cooked?

So I'm watching Food Network last night and on one of the shows, the host grilled steak directly on charcoal. I mean, he removed the steel grate and put the meat right on the coal.

Is that safe and healthy and if so, can you provide any tips on cooking this way! Also, would you cook a filet mignon this way or what kind of steak would you cook this way?

Thanks in advance!

You see, I'm kind of hungry and a little desperate. I was wondering; can I use spaghetti as a shish kabob skewer? I can't find the wooden skewers anywhere and was wondering if this was...um...not toxic.

I don't know if I need oxygen to keep the grill hot but I can't seem to keep the heat. I always kept the lid off but it takes forever to cook anything.

Along with the rosoitto and veggie medly I was going to prepare I don't want to be int he kitchen all day long and then too tired to enjoy our time together. I'm looking to find a really good cookbook. In twos years, I go to college, and I'm most likely getting kicked out of the house. Does anyone know a cookbook that has everything (or most everything) that I'll need? I'm taking along some recipes from my Grandma to supplement said cookbook.

to grilling a great, tender steak? I can grill a t-bone, delmonico, or a ribeye, do nothing special to it and it comes out wonderful. But, any other cut and it don't turn out so tender, no matter what I do. I have a couple of sirloins that I'd like to grill and I need to know some secrets to tenderness.

I want to duplicate a recipe my mother used to make that was, I know, very quick and easy. I know that most of it was macaroni, tuna, mayo and a couple of small additions.

I would like to start using my crockpot more often for dinner meals, especially with the hot summer months ahead. I have only made a couple of things in mine! Can you share what your favorite meal is to cook in your crockpot, and the recipe if possible? Thanks!

I'm young and was never taught to cook. I've lived with my fiance for about a year now, and we're getting sick of the same old thing!
I bought some sausage links to cook for dinner tonight.
Any suggestions?

We all have our own way of making that famous pot of spaghett! Some of us can't do without a certain ingredient or it just won't taste right! My pot of spaghetti must have ground round or italian sausage... LOVE IT! What's your main ingredient that you can't do without?
