I would like to start using my crockpot more often for dinner meals, especially with the hot summer months ahead. I have only made a couple of things in mine! Can you share what your favorite meal is to cook in your crockpot, and the recipe if possible? Thanks!

My favorite is my ma-maw's crock pot roast - it's yummy!! Take a beef or pork roast, whichever you prefer & place in bottom of crockpot. Around the meat, layer cut-up veggies such as potatoes, carrots, onions and celery. Add 2 cloves of garlic, then pour over 1 can cream of mushroom soup. Pour in 1 soupcan of water then add 1 pkg Lipton onion soup mix & 1 stick butter. Cook on low for about 8 hours ( I put it on before leaving for work in the morning & dinner is ready when I get home) I like to serve with fresh coleslaw & homemade cornbread........Don't forget plenty of sweet tea!!

Roast w/potatoes and carrots. Season the roast really well with salt and pepper. Place the roast in the crockpot, put potatoes sliced and carrots around it. Cover with water. Slow cook for several hours. Should be able to pull apart with a fork. Mine are always so tender! I make gravy with the juices the meat cooked in. Just put a little flour in a pan with a touch of oil. Brown for a second. Add the juices and whisk, add a bit of salt and pepper. Serve on bread, put some meat on the bread and smother it with gravy. Serve the veggies on the side! Yummy!

Pot Roast - add a bag of frozen (thawed) stew veggies - potatoes, carrots celery & onions. Mix a packet of Lipton dry onion mushroom soup mix with a little water & pour over all. Cook on Lo or Hi till cooked through - about 4-6 hours. I don't always pay attention to cooking time, as my pot gets very hot - I test the meat for doneness..

An easy and quite tasty thing to cook is spaghetti. All you need is 1 can of diced tomatoes, 2 cans of tomato sauce, rosemary, basil, onions, and Italian sausage(or ground beef/turkey) or both meats if you prefer. You can choose to sautee the meat before tossing it in, but I just generally toss everything in (with the onions being chopped), and let it cook all day. Generally I mix it around after about 5-6 hours of cooking. Add red wine for extra flavor should you like that.
