My favorite fruit salad recipe:
Ingredients:
1 (8 oz.) package of cream cheese (softened)
1/2 cup of sugar
1 (11 oz) can mandarin oranges (drained)
1 small jar maraschino cherries (stems removed, drained and chopped)
1 (8 oz) can of crushed pineapples, drained
1 container of Cool Whip
1 cup chopped pecans (optional)
Directions: Beat cream cheese and sugar together in a large bowl using an electric mixer. Add crushed pineapple and cherries (and nuts if desired) and mix by hand until well-blended. Fold in the Cool Whip and Mandarin oranges. Keep in freezer until it's almost time to serve!

My favorite fruit salad is really the easiest one...go to the store and get a bunch of fresh fruit - grapes, melon, pineapple, apples, kiwi, berries, bananas - whatever looks good. Cut them all up into bite-sized pieces, and then squeeze a little lemon juice over the bowl and mix. Let this all chill in the refrigerator for about an hour, and serve.
The lemon juice helps keep things from turning brown, and draws out some juices from the different fruits as well. You don't need any additional sugar or flavorings, just let the fruit speak for itself.

My favorite is just some fresh watermelon or cantelope sprinkled with a little salt, but I have a good fruit salad for bbq's. Buy some of your favorite fruit such as peaches, strawberries, bananas, apples, grapes. Rinse & prepare fruit into bite size chunks. In small bowl, mix 2 containers of your favorite fruit in yogurt & 2 tbsps honey. Pour over fruit & toss to coat. Chill well in fridge, then sprinkle top with a little cinnamon & nutmeg.

This is always a hit - it is quick, easy and refreshing! And patriotic.
Red White and Blue (ok and a little green) Fruit Salad.
- Granny Smith Apples
- Blueberries
- Raspberries
- Juice from 1 lemon
- fresh mint leaves, torn or chopped
Cut the apples into bite sized pieces and squeeze enough lemon juice onto them to coat them. (keeps them from turning brown)
Keep the rest of the ingredients separate (and chilled) until your are ready to serve it.
To serve:
Gently toss the apples and mint leaves in a bowl. Layer with the blueberries and then the raspberries. (you could also gently toss all the gruit together, but be careful not to crush the berries - it will change the color of the salad to purple!)
Garnish the top with a few mint sprigs!
