I'm using this small, portable charcoal grill for one of the first times going camping, and I was just wondering how long I'm supposed to cook hotdogs, burgers and chicken on it? The hotdogs and burgers might be pretty easy to tell if they're done just by looking at them, but the chicken breast probably won't be.

I know how to cook with charcoal, you just pile them up, soak em in lighter fluid, light em and then flatten em out on the grill. Wait til they get ashy and glowy and then start cooking. I'm just not sure how long...if I were grilling chicken over gas, probably about 10-15 minutes total.

Also...I have a hibachi style grill...it has two wire grids, one is closer to the bottom than the other. I'm just wondering, am I supposed to put the charcoals at the very bottom of the grill, or on the lower grid? Or can you do either to control the heat intensity?

I love to cook. But I don't know of any good cook books, and I want to know if any of you know of any good ones that contain good recipes?

I read that making spinach steamed is the most healthiest way for cooking. How do you make the spinach steamed? Like what do you do? Tell me the steps. Thanks.

Me, my friend, her boyfriend, and my sister are having a party on Sunday afternoon, and it's supposed to be our ultimate "healthy party". We don't have any occasion for making this..we were just bored and made a reason to hang out. The thing is..is that she wanted me and my sis
to bring some things too. And I'm not sure what, and what would be healthy for a lunch kinda thing. She already said she's makin white fish with a lemon sauce, and dried up cherries and walnut salad, and artichoke dip. What should I bring?

help! the last two batches of choc chip cookies I've make both turned out wrong. The taste really doughy, not like they're undercooked but more like bread rather than a cookie. They rise up and not out. So they also turn out more round than flat. What's going on, am I not measuring something right? Or forgetting something??

I was once at a wedding where they served a tuna salad that was fabulous! All I recall about it though is that it had sugar in it (sounds weird but so delicious) and it was served in tiny cream puffs. If anyone has a recipe like this I would love to have it.

When I was little my mom used to serve me a fried egg on top of mashed potatoes for breakfast. I am not sure if this was just because we did not have bread or if this is an actual dish!
Anyone ever had this? Does it have a name?

Thanks!

I have eaten at several Mexican restaurants that offer a dip w/ your chips and salsa called "white dip". It is not a queso, and I'm not quite sure what it consists of, but I love this dip and would like to be able to find a recipe for it or something very similar. El Chico restaurants have this dip also... can anyone tell me how to get the recipe or at least point me in the right direction of where i could find it on my own?? Thanks in advance!!

I love to have a juicy steak every now and then. I grew up with my parents cooking steaks in the oven's broiler. That's fine but I've seen ppl also cook steaks in skillets/frying pans, grills and mini ovens too. I just want to know what is the BEST way to cook steaks so they're tender and keep all it's flavor?

Thanks all. I am tired of the same things every week and know everyone has something different to contribute, so if you could post a good recipe, it will be tried and enjoyed.

Thanks again.

I got it at Bed, Bath, & Beyond. I asked the lady at the checkout if that was what I was supposed to do and she didn't know. She said I MIGHT have to have a GAS stove, but could probably use it on my electric. It's one of those that would I guess cover 2 burners and one side it's a griddle and the other side a grill. I just don't want to ruin it or anything when I could go get my money back (even though the closest store is 2 hours away). Someone please advise me soon so I'll know whether I can cook with it or not. I really appreciate it!
