Okay, this probably sounds dumb, but I am just wondering if there is a way to make spaghetti but for one person? if so, how? how much noodles would be just enough for one person? or is spaghetti a meal that can only be made for more than one person?

My elderly friend (80's) lives alone and has mobility issues. He hates meals on wheels and lives mostly on take-out. I want to prepare some meals and freeze them so he can microwave them later. I already know I'll make him my lasagne and beef stew since both freeze and reheat nicely. I need some other ideas, and also any recommendations for containers that go well from freezer to microwave.

He has no dietary restrictions, however nutrition is important since he has been diagnosed with sever anemia from poor nourishment and needed a blood transfusion this week because of it.

Thanks to all in advance.

Cream is not available. I know you can mix regular milk with condensed for a substitute but do not remember proportions

I need some recipe ideas. Preferably scallops, grilled, and some sort of veggie/side dish ideas (more grilling recipes preferred). It's a perfect summer day, and is going to be a perfect summer night, and we want to spend as much time as possible outside, grilling, drinking beers, and loving life. Suggestions please!

Perhaps it is just me, but I've been cooking for 32 years - and cooking does not only mean sticking stuff on a stove, but constant reading, research, experiments in the kitchen and all the rest.(aurant).

I feel totally 'cooked out' at the moment. I have not lost my zeal and passion - I just feel 'cooked out'. Chefs and serious cooks - please share your experience of this phenomenon with me.

I would like any recipes that your family loves for dinner. These can include casseroles, pastas, salads, soups, etc. Just let me know what's your favorite. (you don't have to give me any "secret" recipes ;) )

This is an all afternoon, outdoor event. We will be in the sun and it is supposed to be hot.

I have to bring a side dish, that kids will like. Obviously this needs to be something that will stand up to the heat.

Also, any suggestions on how to keep food safe outside?
This is a school type activity. There will not be any refrigeration.
I am assuming most people in our group will bring the usual type of thing, such as baked beans...etc.

My mother in law cooks-fries foods with cooking oils but after the food is fried, she pours the used cooking oil into a container and then continously reuses it for future frying of foods. Is this safe and healthy?
