I bought 2 pounds of them and discovered I have no white wine. What else can I do with them? I have to use them today.

I just need ideas, unless you have a tried and true recipe.

My favorite is steamed and dipped in melted butter!!!
My husband loves to make shrimp and clam marinara over spaghetti. He also makes a white clam sauce without using white wine.

Steaming them is a good way to do it and then eating them with a fork dipped in hot garlic butter. You steam the clams by first washing them well. Put a large pan of water on the stove and bring to a boil. Use a calandar and place the clams in shell into the calandar and then place it in the boiling water. You want to suspend the calandar above the water so that the clams are steamed and not boiled. Cover the calandar with a large pan lid. When the clam shells open and the clams turn from pink to gray, they are ready to eat. In the mean time, in a small sauce pan, make liquid butter or margerine with some garlic powder or granulated garlic. Use a small clam fork and pull the clams from the shell, dipping in the hot garlic butter and eat straight away.

First of all , eat them. They're delicious raw on the half shell with cocktail sauce. If you like them cooked, turn putting them in a light tomato sauce. Or get some bottled clam juice. Saute some onion and garlic, add the clam juice parsley and little necks. When they open, serve it over pasta.

How about some yummy fried clams? (I'd ship you some of my wine, but I don't think it'll get there in time. ;-)
