I don't want the regular waffles or cereal and he loves meat. It also shouldn't take too long to make.

Me and my friend were wondering why there aren't regulare baked beans without the baked. Why do they call them baked beans if most aren't really baked, they're cooked on the stove? This may be a blonde moment, but I need to know!!!

I usually make goulash on the stove in a large pot (dutch oven). After browning the meat and adding all the seasonings, I simmer it on the stove at low heat for about 2 hours.

I'd like to try the recipe in a crockpot but I have no idea whether to choose the low or high settings. Also, should I brown the meat and seasonings in a dutch oven and then transfer to a crockpot or just put everything in the crockpot right off the bat.

Thanks so much for the help.

regards,
mari

We carmelized onions in our cast iron skillet last weekend, but the sugar made this HORRENDOUS crust, and it is all stuck to the bottom and will NOT come off. Any recommendations are welcome because cast iron is expensive, and we don't want to ruin it. Thanks.

Is Nigel Slater the best? I want simple, family, comfort foods that are easy to make, good for you, easy, not nouvelle cuisine, something from when I was growing up in 50s and 60s.
