When my son was younger and we were out of milk, I would add kool aid to his cereal. He loved it (until he got older). Has anyone else ever done this?

I am going to make this for the 1st time today. Should I make any changes to the recipe????

CROCKPOT TURKEY BREASTS
Brown 3 slices turkey bacon in pan until almost crisp. Add 1c chopped carrots, 1/2c chopped onion. Cook 2-3 min. Drain fat from pan.
In separate bowl combine 1 can cream chicken soup, 2 cans broth, 1/4 tsp marjarom, 1/4 tsp pepper. Pour this sauce into a crockpot. Add 1 lb turkey breast cut into bite sized pieces and 1 cup wild brown rice and veggie & bacon mixture. Cook on low for 6-7 hours.

Does this sound good? Should I make any changes?

I'm going to try and make a few new recipes today. I don't want to waste my time and money, so curious if you experts could tell me if I should make any changes to these recipes or prep methods.

1) CHICKEN WITH BARLEY & QUINOA STEW
Place 3 chicken breast halves (boneless) in crockpot with 2 cups water, pearled barley, cleaned quinoa, and large can of chopped tomatoes. Cook 6-7 hours on low setting. Add s&p to taste.

2) QUINOA PILAF
Sautee 2tsp olive oil, 1/2c diced onion, 1/2c mushrooms and garlic for about 4 min. Add 2 cups boiling water, 1/2c baby peas, and 1c toasted quinoa to the pan. Cover and simmer 15 min.

When I was a kid I remember my grandma making refried beans the OLD fashion way. I'm NOT trying to sell anything with this ling in here but is the ONLY pic I could find of what I'm talking about.
Does anybody know what this item is called? hand colander? grinding colander? blade colander? I wanna buy a NEW one but I have no idea what it's actually called. Anybody has seen any of these and know what's their true name?
Thanks

I placed some lentils and brown rice into my crock pot last night and it turned out ok except my brown rice is a little mushy. Does anyone have a recipe they can share which will allow me to use a Crock Pot to cook this dish and it not turn out like mush? I added the brown rice about an hour after the beans. Left on low for about 6 hours. ** Small Note** An hour of that I turned it on high then reduced it to low.
