cool your batter before you add the chocolate chips, if you shake them in a little flower before adding them it will help keep them in place. Make sure you don't let the mixture sit in the pans too long before you put them in the oven, and try using the little chocolate chips. If none of these things work you definately need a different cupcake recipe.

This usually occurs when you over mix the batter. Put the chips in a bowl and toss with some of the dry ingredients. Then fold them into the batter.

Take a few tablespoons of the dry mix & put in a bag with the choc. chips & shake to coat. Add them to the batter & gently stir them in. Works for me well.

Ive learned over the years of alot of cooking for family and other friends that over mixing your batter will give you problems like that such as your cup cakes. Its the same with cornbread, cake and waffle batter. Dont over mix. It needs to be semi chunky still. My prized jalepino bacon cheese cornbread is a success because of maintaining a chunky batter. I hope this helps.

Dust them in flour first before putting them in the cake mixture. I guarantee that they won't sink to the bottom once the cake is done. You can also do this to any cubed fruits, glaced cherries, etc.
