I am going to make this for the 1st time today. Should I make any changes to the recipe????

CROCKPOT TURKEY BREASTS
Brown 3 slices turkey bacon in pan until almost crisp. Add 1c chopped carrots, 1/2c chopped onion. Cook 2-3 min. Drain fat from pan.
In separate bowl combine 1 can cream chicken soup, 2 cans broth, 1/4 tsp marjarom, 1/4 tsp pepper. Pour this sauce into a crockpot. Add 1 lb turkey breast cut into bite sized pieces and 1 cup wild brown rice and veggie & bacon mixture. Cook on low for 6-7 hours.

Does this sound good? Should I make any changes?

turkey bacon does not have much fat in it, so I would add some canola oil. Next brown the turkey pieces in the bacon before adding the veggies. Browning the meat will add more flavor to the pot. Also you want to add some salt to the veggies for a sweat. Add some garlic to the mix as well as some celery.I would use one of the cans of broth to deglaze the veggie pan. Change the pepper to white pepper it will look better in the final dish. Lastly I would make the rice separate and add it in just before service. Put it in the veggie pan after you remove the veggies and add the broth and let it cook. You could also add some grated parm.

Sounds excellent.
Personally,
I definitely wouldn't leave out garlic. 1 or 2 cloves, minced.

Because of the turkey you need to cook for 1 hour on high setting before reducing the setting to low for the balance of the time.

You could remove the bacon, crumble and refrigerate or leave it in the pot if that is your preference.

Add the broth, soup and spices to the pan with bacon, onion and garlic and heat until bubbly.

Put the carrots and rice in the slow cooker, top with the turkey pieces and then

pour the soup mixture over ingredients the slow cooker.

Cover crockpot and cook on high setting for 1 hour.

Stir, making sure rice is submerged in liquid.

Reduce crockpot setting to Low

Cook for 6 to 8 hours until turkey is thoroughly cooked and wild rice is tender.

Sprinkle the reserved bacon into crockpot during the last 20 to 30 minutes of cooking.

This sounds like a very tasty, easy recipe. There is such little fat in turkey bacon (and turkey breast itself is very dry) that I wouldn't worry about draining fat from pan. If you are concerned your rice may be mushy (as previous poster noted), you can add the rice last, on top, so it doesn't get too wet. It should cook in the steam. Make sure you are not using quick cook or instant rice. Regular wild and brown rices are tougher and cook more slowly. If you are going to be home, you could stir the rice down about 2 hours before serving.

It sounds good...but, I'm not sure I would add the rice to the crock pot, I would cook it separately and serve the turkey and sauce over the rice.
I once made something similar using chicken, and by the time we ate the rice was like mush.

Hope it turns out good

I would do some sort of noodles instead of the rice, myself. And while the cream soups always make things taste good, I would make my own sauce- with a bit of olive oil or butter, some white wine, mushrooms, lots of fresh herbs, fresh salt and pepper, chives, garlic, homemade broth, and some cream. If it isn't thick enough you can take a tablespoon or two of flour in a separate bowl and add a bit of broth or wine to make a paste. Add that to your sauce and it will thicken as it simmers. Good Luck and Enjoy!!!!!

i'd could trust "a L." It sounds a sprint bland to me (in accordance with how the poultry is waiting). i'd definitely upload some sauteed onion or shallot (and that i'd probable use actual garlic extremely of powder). additionally, to well-being it up slightly, i'd definitely use finished grain pasta, and that i'd provide trouble-free yogurt a attempt extremely of bitter cream. based if i had to flow an Italian-inspired path or save it form of yankee-mac&cheese-ish, i'd evaluate some basil, oregano, marjoram, and/or parsley. If I went the Italian path, i'd additionally sub a sprint sparkling-grated parmesan for the cheddar. i'd additionally evaluate including the two a sprint mustard seed or a sprint arranged mustard (back, in accordance with which ethnic path I chosen). ultimately, i'd the two upload or plan a vegetable-heavy factor-dish, exceedingly if I went the yank-mac&cheese-ish path - sparkling steamed broccoli would be large.
