I just re-read your Q. Actually you have an easier way.
Just take 1 cup of rice to 2 cups of water as ratio.
That will be easier.
All the best.

[Each normal cup is 6ozs.. (Small cups are 4ozs.)
16 ozs make a lb.
And you have the rest of ans. above!
For water, I'd use some jar that has some marking.]

there are 4 cups in a quart. You would need 14 cups of rice to 28 cups of water.

You would use 14 cups of rice, and 28 cups of water!

2 cups = 1 pint
2 pints= 1 quart

So.... there are 4 cups in 1 quart

If you have a liquid measuring cup, the measurements are all on the side.

1 quart = 32 oz.

so, 3.5 quarts = 112 oz. = 14 cups

and, 7 quarts = 224 oz. = 28 cups

that is a lot of rice there!

if you want to reduce the amount youre making, just remember rice is always 1 part rice to two parts water.

For the liquid measure (hot water): 4 cups (exactly) = 1 quart

For the dry measure (rice): 4.5 (approx) cups = 1 quart
