I want to make a Fresh Strawberry Pie, but I want to buy a ready-made crust instead of making one from scratch. I want to know the BEST brand of frozen or refrigerated pie crust for it. I'm looking for a crust that is similar to Baker's Squares regular pie crust, NOT the graham cracker crust. Remember, this is a fruit pie that will be eaten cold and with a jelly and fruit filling. I hear that Marie Callender, Mrs.Smith's, and Pillsbury's is good. But when it comes to Pillsbury, which one, the frozen or the refrigerated one? Thanks to all, and MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I brought home a frozen solid 11 pound (aka: 4.800 kg) turkey. I put it in water on my counter top for about an hour when I first got it home. Then I put it into the fridge(not in water, just in it's wrapping) By the time I want to cook it (which is tomorrow) ..it will have been in the fridge thawing for about 3 1/2 days. Is it still okay?? Thank you in advance for you answers :)

OK.. so i need to act as rich and upscale as i can.. so i can start this whole attitude where i am privelaged and can do whatever i want in public.. because i have more money than them.

So, part of this will be eating high class and sophisticated food.

What should i choose?

I was thinking hummace and pita bread... or exotic cheese dips with scallions in them.. or other sautteed things with scallions and chicken in them...

but anyways, what can i prepare and buy to give people an impression of my high-classed ness?

I have some sliced white mushrooms and I'd love to make a sauce for the steaks. I once had an awesome sauce that contained balsamic vinegar and I think red wine with the mushrooms. I'd like to recreate something like that. Angel hair pasta is the side dish. Shiraz is being served with dinner.

The one i'm thinking of has crab meat and shrimp as the main ingredients, with tomatoes lemon and jalapeno peppers. Has any one heard of this? Do you know what else goes in it?

I am making a hungarian pastry for Christmas. This is an old family pastry which calls for two cans of "pie filling". What is the best type of pie filling to use in a hungarian pastry?

We are having about 7 people (with good appetites) coming over in a few days and I am cooking pot roast. I already have a recipe that I use and it works out wonderfully, I usually put red potatoes, brown gravy mix, carrots, onions and just enough water to cover the potatoes, and for one roast I will put it on early morning at about 8 or 9 and it will be ready around 5 or so. My question is, that I am going to have to cook two roast in my slow cooker this time... How long should I cook them on low? Should I do it over night for them to be ready by 5 in the evening? To make it a little faster I figured I could just cut the two raost in half or something. Any help would be great!! Thanks!!
