I want to make a Fresh Strawberry Pie, but I want to buy a ready-made crust instead of making one from scratch. I want to know the BEST brand of frozen or refrigerated pie crust for it. I'm looking for a crust that is similar to Baker's Squares regular pie crust, NOT the graham cracker crust. Remember, this is a fruit pie that will be eaten cold and with a jelly and fruit filling. I hear that Marie Callender, Mrs.Smith's, and Pillsbury's is good. But when it comes to Pillsbury, which one, the frozen or the refrigerated one? Thanks to all, and MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I always go for the refrigerated that you can shape yourself. I can't really tell much difference from one brand to another. The big advantage is that you put them in your own pie plate so they not only look home made but can be used for deeper dishes. They come two in a box so you can either make a top crust or woven strips.

Good luck! Your strawberry pie sounds fantastic!

thank you for offering the recipe hyperlink. After analyzing the recipe, it does seem for you to use the pie crusts and carry on with the recipe instructions. The crust heavily isn't as flaky or thick, yet you're able to do this. (think of lower back on the thickness of any style of pie you're attentive to.) that is like a miniature version of a beef Wellington. i've got made comparable recipes and in no way used puff pastry. you could bake the patties contained in the pie crust using the time for a baked pie crust (unfilled). or you need to use the crescent roll training below. i've got used refrigerated crescent roll dough, too, and the outcomes have been great! to apply crescent roll dough, you unroll the dough onto a floured floor and gently pinch the perforations collectively and gently roll it out somewhat. Then decrease your products on your recipe and wrap the dough around purely like your recipe shows. I propose which you alter the baking time and use the quantity of time for the crescent roll dough, checking it and including a jiffy if needed. the two one would be sturdy. And in case you do no longer enable on which you made an blunders contained in the crust, no person will understand and additionally you would be swamped with compliments!!!
